I think that the answer depends upon definition of “first sight”. If it’s about the very first second you see someone, then I agree with the post above: it’s about lust only, as brain has just time enough to decide for or against reproduction. (And my impression is that a male brain would rather decide for, no matter what, no price too high, despite their previous experience and what Mammy said…)
Regarding the 10 essential virtues: you have to spend some time with the person before you’d know whether he’s got any of them. Perhaps except obvious physical beauty – that you see at once (and tend to ascribe the wearer all other pretty features as well).
Love at first sight? Yes, it does exist. I fell in love with the most beautiful love of my life at the very first sight. He was a few weeks old homeless kitten at that time. Lived with us for 7 years… all this happened so long ago, but I still miss him.
It indeed is highly probable that I’ve forgotten to turn off one or another lamp – I’m hopeless with machines and mechanisms. Will ask some of my neighbours to help me with the darn thing… but not today... too cold to go out once again...
After a second thought, your post sounds somehow scaring… Perhaps you better tell the police what you’ve done… An honest confession will lighten your heart and possibly reduce time…
There is a tradition in Sweden to eat seafood and shellfish and surströmming in the end of August / beginning of September. Usually the weather allows to have the event outdoors, and with surströmming it’s really very handy, as, as said, the smell is just dreadful. I’m not entirely sure why Swedes carry on the tradition, perhaps to show their stoicism?
That certainly is nót the tradition – one opens it outdoors and waits until the living organisms have adjusted to the changed circumstances. Then and only then you take the dish inside.
Well… if you can’t choose among different variations, then I’d recommend “surströmming”: you don’t need to prepare it and you can’t do wrong with it – it’s already rotten.
Don’t know what its taste is, as I never dared to eat it, but the smell is sooooo foul it guarantees you’ll never forget it.
Perhaps we should charm some gentleman living in Northern Sweden and invite ourselves to him on our way to the ice hotel. Just as a plan B… (sounds like a plan…)
I’m not sure about Swedish food (have to ask people about the details and places). As to the nature and sightseeing, I am of infantry’s opinion that summer is better than winter. But they say there’s a ice hotel somewhere in Finland (it’s not exactly Sweden, but reachable) and I never been there, and once in a life everything is interesting… summa summarum – there would be things to see even given winter times, and you are welcome when it suits you. I enjoy flexible working hours (though when it’s a dead line – then it’s a dead line), I’m on wheels and well… if further planning is necessary I’m here and on my privet e-mail.
