Thank you for the link, I usually don’t watch that kind of shows, but it turned out: interesting things happen even there.

As to “too late” theme… if her goal was to gather large arenas with public, then yes – it’s too late. But my impression is that she lives her life as she’s chosen it and is quite content with it. In that case everything happens at right time.

Oh, these ones live for 80 years, ours only are 6 and 4 respectively. Or 7 and 5? Should ask the baby-girl, she’s got their birth-certificates.

But for New Year we baked a pirog, and made salad Olivier (or course) – the greenz dove into it up to their arm bows… and drunk bubbles, and watched fireworks.

Poultry left yesterday… empty… sigh

RE: i hate it when ?

…when someone takes you over at a crossing when you just started to slow down in the front of red light that was on for a while. You have to break rather hefty, exactly what you tried to avoid in the first place. (This winter is mild so far, but we do have wet leaves and black ice here.) And then this person is dragging in the front of you for all infinity, as there’s no place to take over other cars and a certain speed limit.

Can’t say that I hate it, but would like to ask: what’s the point?

He’s American, and that might explain mentioning of good. grin

See, a scientific article has higher probability to be published if the study got a significant result (which is by everyone’s opinion is not the right practice, but which still exists despite everyone’s opinion). Perhaps, an American writer has more chances to be published if he mentioned good?

RE: Desiderata - Desired Things

Is it the doctrine of stoicism? Sounds very like it… Anyway, it was good until it mentioned god. Is it really necessarily to put it into everything? (Rhetorical)

But nonetheless, Happy New Year!

Our birds are nicely sitting on their pin. One has lost a lot of feathers from a wing, and now can only walk, the other watches the first – always ready to defend it. It calls loyalty and care, doesn’t it?

RE: Here's what I don't get

If you really want to meet someone, it would be more practical to look for people in your area. For Europe it means some local site in their own language.

Even if you like someone on an international site, it doesn’t mean you can meet next day, it’s not exactly a guy next street we are talking about here.

If you want to be realistic – then look for some men in your area. If you want to have it more complicated, then yeah… International forums are just the right place.

RE: Should a person in this situation stay or go?

She is not interested, but has no guts to tell you straight – it’s the conclusion I’d make of the whole situation. Leave her in peace.

RE: So ... what`s your Christmas menu?

As I don’t celebrate any kind of Christmas, it’s going to be a New Year menu. Champs, of course, and Olivier salad (have already bought the ingredients).

But a “feast” for me is a state of mind in the first place, the rest can be added.

RE: untill what age can a girl wear a white weddingdress?

I wouldn’t like anyone to tell me what to wear. If this woman wants a white wedding dress – why not? It’s her wedding.

We are always too young, or too old, or too fat, or too skinny for this and for that. If you listen to others. Sometimes it’s also ok to listen to oneself.

There’s no reason for you to feel guilty – if anything else, then they had the last word. Perhaps the first time in their life.

This thread exists in duplicate, so it’s possible that there would be iterations in my posts.

Sure, if you live in a certain country, it’s more convenient (mostly for yourself, but for the people around you as well) to keep to rituals and ceremonies that are most common for this country. You will be easier accepted in society, which in its turn makes your life also easier.

Though I’ve made an “experiment on human beings” – I’ve sent a few letters as first and got no reply. Obviously, I’ve chosen people whose idea of good manners didn’t coincide with the OP’s (my usual luckgrin ). But in the end of the day, it’s not good manners that make us feel comfortable in someone’s company. It’s the fact that we don’t mind their manners, whatever they are. And it’s not about manners, it’s about chemistry… which is a entirely different story.

After updating, this site got a wonderful feature – “Shout out”, and while we are not supposed to discuss details of private correspondence on forums, “Shouts out” are there for everyone to see. I can safely say that my mail box contains the same proportion of letters that make sense and trigger a response. And those I do answer.

cheers
