We still have 2 drive in theaters here... CurlyWolf was near one of them when she visited...

They are almost all gone now ... they started disapearing once the 6 and 10 theater walk ins where built... such a shame... i remember 6.00 a car load and buying soda pops at the store and making popcorn and putting it in paper grocery bags... in my teens

My hometown still has a drugstore from those days wich still has all of that ..it is on main street weaverville... the fountains, Malts, and ice cream...

Wouldn't it be so nice to be able to gp back to those days when a kind gesture was nothing more than that... without fear of people we would meet on the street...

if someone was to offer that today it would be viewed as something bad or devious.

It just hit me as i was thinking about a little Closed store i drove by this morning i used to visit as a child...

Everybody around town seemed to be there when we went to the store...
And the owner was such a nice and giving man he used to slip the kids a piece of gum

We thought he was like the greatest... one of my first heros he was.
he would keep the conversation going umongst the hang about at the door and around the room.
He was the easiest person i ever knew to get along with and everyone respected him.

He even had a cool Nickname...Shorty Radford

Penny candy... what a wonderful time as a child... and a candy bar was like Gold Bullion bars

I remeber the little wax candy that was shaped like coca cola bottles, and sweet tarts...

I just wished my own children could experience what a treat it really was ...just the simplest of things.

memories of a childhood and a local store... who would have ever thought it could mean so much.

the generation of kids now do not know what they are missing... just the simple pleasures.

nothing so small as gettin a piece of super bubble from the shop keeper could have meant so much except through a small cjilds eyes...

Had anyone asked me three months ago i would have said... I don't know, why bother?

May i suggest that you be yourself ... do not stress on finding ... and enjoy meeting people in forums.

It is much easier for others to make a decision about how much interest they would have in you by being able to review your opinoins and attitudes in forum posting.

And yes again it really does work, Bringing to souls together.
Not only did We find in each other someone to love... But we also found someone to love for life... and it is our absolute wish to be together for lifelong sharing of love and family.

So when things get you down... just be yourself and go forward and know that you are being watched by a potential love everyday you post.
