Perhaps the Grand Canyon, the climate there shouldn't support many mosquitos as far as I know,
and I believe there is still a substantial native american influence in the area.

The Canyon was my first thought. Having lived in the US for most of my life, the first time I saw it and that part of the country to include Native Americans really made me realize just how it must have felt long before urban development. Wild horses (saw those from an HH-60G-military helicopter) but you get the picture. There are cool places all over the US.
A lot of people, myself included, are here for the "forums" only. In the past few years, I've gotten to know quite a few people and won't stop talking to them just because I met someone. JMO.
Agree with Kansan--the second part! I wonder if people ever complain about everything because their own life sucks and in some warped way it makes them feel better about themselves? Nahhhhh...
