Oh yes, long married couples who no longer communicate are pathetic and stupid - I call them cowards - too afraid to let go, and not enough sense to get their act together. Its amazing how some people can exist in this type of self-imposed prison of hate towards each other. THAT is the reason I admire those couples who sort out their problems and get on with Living.
The isolation and egocentrism is a result of Too Much Freedom. How can wives stay at home anymore - they have to get out into the market place and compete. They have to provide for themselves and their own futures - there is no more "unity" in a marriage. In fact marriage has become a farce. Neither of couples seem to know what they in it for? Most seem to never stop looking for a new mate, any time, any place..... a type of consumerism .... ?
Yes, I have seen how "date sites" are just a game-playing scenario - maybe 1 in a 2000 actually meet anyone seriously looking - the rest seem to be all just egotistical fantasies.
Smoky, its difficult anywhere at that age, no country takes care of their elders. much less UK they now have the worst medical and care system in all of europe. (Once it was the best)
here in swissland they have four languages. German, French, Italian and the original language of Romantsch (Swizziera or something like that). This last one is only spoken in one state (Graubunden) and only there in 4 or 5 villages. and it can be written.
As to swiss german being understood in Germany, well the gerries cant understand anyone from batziland or schwabenland so it really doesnt make any difference.
My sons speak German fluently and english fluently as well, and the oldest says french is no problem for him either just the language bit.
