I think the 'common grunt,' keeps it to the lowest common denominator...it is either me or him. If I don't get him, he'll get me and my family if possible.
I see and understand where you come from. Like I said, I was not entirely sold on McCain myself. I don't tend to follow politics too closely myself...mostly when I have to, which is election time. Like I also said, I would have voted for Powell or even Romney. One never ran and the other did'nt make it. I don't know much about Romney other than his father was one time governor of Michigan.

Are you sure about that? I personally think war and torture are repulsive, but, I also have to acknowledge their existence and therefore they need to be dealt with. Sometimes, if a fire is burning out of control you have to fight it with another fire to keep it undercontrol. The same thing with evil. Sometimes you need to be worse than your enemy in order to protect the people and things you love. It is not easy or even desired, but I do believe it is necessary in certain occasions. There is a lot of truth to the saying,'do not cast your pearls before swine.' That is a losing and fruitless battle. Swine do not care what you feed it, it's only concern is to sate it's appetite. Prime Rib or slop is all the same to a pig.
Alright...now ask yourself how far you would be willing to go to accomplish that. Remember that enemy is dedicated to destroying not only you, but your entire family.
I agree with you there. If Romney runs in the next election, I may give him a shot. His father was a good govenor here in Michigan. A good blue collar man. If Mitt is anything like his old man, I would give him a shot.
There you go Bodhi...assuming. Yes, I did vote for McCain, but I was not entirely sold on him either. He just appeared to be the lesser of two evils. imo Who the hell else was there to vote for that would have been better...Hillary? I may have considered her but for the fact that if she got in the White House, Bill would have been there too.
I would have in this last election had he run. But, now that he has turned in support of Obama, I am wondering if that would have been a wise choice. My vote for him would have been based on his leadership abilities in Iraq alone. I'm not sure where he stands on other issues. I personally like the man and think he would have made a great President just based on those leadership skills alone. To me, he showed skill, decisiveness and intelligence. Hell, I would have voted for Swartzkoff had he run. I think we need a strong leader with military background. In my opinion, Eisenhower was the last Great President we had. Kennedy, I believe could have been if he had survived. He would have been the first President I could have voted for.
I can agree with you only in part Bodhi, Bush was terrible, but I think ultimately Obama is going to be even worse. The New World Order was printed on our money decades ago, so Bush was far from the originator of that thought.
By decieving, I mean he is giving false promises that he won't or can't keep. He is giving the country a false sense of security by promising everything will be all right, we're headed in the right direction, things are going to improve in the near future etc. He is wrong and he knows it. He has a agenda that is his alone and the American people are being fooled by it. We are being headed away from a free democracy to socialism and/or communism, the exact opposite of what this country was founded on in principle. Some freedoms have been lost already and more are on the way. It was on the TV last night that hugging in public is being discouraged. C'mon, hugging??? Obama is trying to establish a New World Order, if you don't know what that means, look it up. If you are a Christian, it means big trouble ahead. If you are athiest or agnostic, don't worry about it, it won't apply to you.
Are you going through change of life? There is a vast difference between Christian and Muslim run governments. If you want to live in a Muslim run country, perhaps you should elect one for your own.
