They should definitely not get away with it. They should be held accountable in a court of law, like anyone else. It is not part of their job to lose control like this. Just firing them sends a message it is something that is not that bad to do.
And it's a good saying too...we should think about it more often; everyone tends to judge everyone else so quickly and thoughtlessly. See it everyday, in every aspect of life...
Of course being sick doesn't change who he is. Who and what he is, to my mind, is one discussion, jumping up and down with glee because he is suffering is another.
Don't some states have programs that provide health care for people w/o insurance. I was living in Washington and I think they had a low cost health care program for low income people. Or maybe it was for anybody who wanted to pay it's low premiums. Didn't cover all that well, probably, but better than nothing. Do you just have to be totally broke to get any coverage from the government?
If you have no sensibilities in this way, fine. Two threads were posted here that expressed humor and ridicule about a man dieing. I, and others, simply commented that such a display was uncalled for. In response to that were several posts expressing justification for such behavior. I responded to those justifications.
I am not in anyway at any point in this thread or the other defending him...have you read the threads and my posts? I am not even concerning myself with his behavior....I am concerning myself with the idea that it is acceptable to ridicule someone's suffering, to ridicule a person's death.....Read my posts, I have not defended him one iota.
Again, this has nothing to do with the topic of the thread. This thread ridicules and seems to take delight in someone's illness and probable demise. Going back over whether or not Kennedy should have spent time in jail is another issue. Also, why do we think it is okay to try someone though the media? The media is, apparently, only to be trusted when it supports what one wants to believe.
It is statiscally correct that rich people do not suffer the penalties of the law as heavily as the poor, but, again, that is another issue.
Is it possible, workable? It works ok here, in Germany, as far as I know. However, Germany is about the side of one US state. Americans have resisted the idea of universal health care for a long time. Some have told me it is not workable because America is too big and too complex of a society. Many Canadians and Brits say their health care systems are not working.
Universal health care has been a big topic in the campaign for president; it seems likely whoever is elected, some type of program will be proposed. What are your ideas and thoughts on this topic? Canadians, Brits and others, please add your experience and ideas too.
I would think that, if one believes in karma, one would believe that taking pleasure in someone else's suffering would create bad karma for oneself. No? Think about it.
here you are on two thread throwing yourself a cheerleading party because someone is dying. Do you go to prisons and have tailgate parties while you wait for them to pull the switch on execution night? Fun guy you are.
my point is only i am not judge, jury, and executioner--his behavior was inexcusable--but he is not necessarily guilty of murder---manslaughter at max, according to most laws, if we were to judge him...and i won't as i don't have the facts---taking pleasure in his suffereing and probable death is sickening...
hmmm judge jury and executioner? none of know the absolute facts of that story...i'm not defending him or anyone, but I'm not going to play God, ever...
I went to a high school where you could come and go as you pleased, it was like a college campus....so not necessary to play hookie--there was a mall nearby, we hung out there a lot...
Look for my upcoming memoir, My Life As a Mall Rat
RE: Woman Lie when they say
Now is that a nice thing to say about my people?I am half german, but actually an American living in Germany.
