i quit---feel much better, smell better, and have more money!! just congratulating myself--not judging anyone else...i loved smoking...but hate what it did to me.
everywhere I go, Europe and otherwise, outside N. America, people assume most Americans/Canadians don't smoke--but everybody else, incl. Europeans, still smoking...
Society is different, more options for everyone, more selfishness too. Different attitude toward marriage--people weren't happier, per se, just believed differently, that you stayed married, etc. Lots of people stayed married and weren't 'fulfilled' or happy, there were affairs, misery...but they stayed married. Your nostalgic picture isn't realistic...people had just as many problems before, difference was attitudes toward marriage, society's and the individuals.
this kind of attack really doesn'ts seemed to be called for--why get so personal and be so abrasive....? she hasn't attacked you in that way...we know from what you've written what your personal experiences were, but it's not fair to project that on to everyone--she's not advocating that mothers who are cruel and abusive have custody of their children..
Yes, agree with both posts. Hard to define and outline what the laws would be, hard to enforce them, etc. It's another example of social understanding not keeping up with technology...
I think 'most' is he operative word here---some women may not like to tell their true age, possibly older women (?) or younger ones who want to be seen as more mature (?)....but MOST women tend to be straight forward about this...in modern times, there is little reason not to...
Certainly there are people who are ill, and there are people who are poor--I've lived in countries where there are people far poorer and destitue than any I've ever seen in America...and I don't suggest I would judge their clothing or cleanliness...but I do think that when one who has all the resources to be clean and to take care of themselves and doesn't -- it only projects to me it's probably not someone I'm that interested in.... a man who has served in the war and is ill and has tried to get help and hasn't found any, this is quite another story....
RE: you are layer !!!!
it could be just people don't understand you--language misunderstanding, cultural misunderstanding...give it some time, be more patient
