I know nothing about Ron Paul--but of course you have a right to an opinion--of any country in the world, with the exception of Mexico, Canada is affected by what the US does. As far as 'helping' well you can try..in this case, however, big brother rarely listens...
first, this isn't personal and I don't know where you'd get the idea I was questioning you. second, you're coming from the place of someone who had the wherewithal to raise kids, etc. and do it well, a healthy environment.
anyway, i wasn't attacking you or anyone, it's all hypothetical, and I may want to have children, but probably adopted ones....so I will have to go through all those regulations and rules and tests.....it doesnt seem quite fair.
"are you saying that prevention should be enforced? Nobody has the right to make that judgement. When i had my children i struggled financial but that did not make me a lesser parent than the richest parent in the world, because they were wanted and loved. "
Well, I don't intend to suggest anything so extreme as needing to have a lot of money--there's a big difference between that and enough money--like young women in the States who are 14 or 15 and just get pregnant because they want someone to love them, but they ahve absolutely no financial resources.
I don't have all the answers for every specific instance, but again,if such regulations are place on people who want to adopt, why is it so strange to place the on people who want to have natural children. Nobody is answering that question. Isn't it all about protecting the child?
I think we have a perception that reproductive rights are sacred. All I'm saying is that for the better of humanity and the protection of children, we might change that perception--it is only one human right, there are others that have restrictions on them, but not this one. I don't know about supremacist--the ideas about being ready and able to have children are pretty much general around the world--and would be adaptable to each culture--but the idea is to protect children, and by extention, their parents, from suffering. I'm not saying everyone has to have my personal values, but if you look at, for example, UN statements on the welfare of children, etc., standards are pretty much universal--we just are not imposing them.
ok, in my little police state by the sea: both potential parents have completed educational courses, had psychological screening, drug testing, financial screening, etc. then they are okay to go!!
