I work with a guy from Croatia. He says the buses are cheaper and more efficient than trains. I just went to Zagreb then came back. Got a cheap flight. Didn't travel around in the country.
I don't know much about politics anywhere....complicated? they are all about equally complicated--I find Germany more complicated than most, actually--I'm a little too lazy and sloppy and confused for these rigorous people. Here, the cleaning product which is called "Mr. Clean" in the States is called "Mr. Proper." Impermeable? I get along and am reasonably comfortable everywhere; people are usally always pretty nice, and helpful, to me--I was in China a long time ago, that was probably the most difficult. But the people were helpful because I was with a Chinese friend and her friends and family helped me a lot.
You are probably closer to it than the rest of us. I was in Zagreb a few weeks ago. Compared to prices in Germany, Croatia was not as cheap as I had hoped/expected. It's a bit cheaper than here. I can't remember the exchange rate and didn't go to any supermarkets--was only there 3 days. I always use LONLELY PLANET travel guides and recommend them, especially if you are backpacking around instead of just going to one destination. They will tell you everything. You can get it from Amazon if it's not available where you are. Have fun.
What does chocolate mean to you?
You have seen Tootsie, haven't you? A classic movie starring Dustin Hoffman? He got in touch with his feminine side
