They can take a few weeks before you actually feel any affect man. What you don't want to do is stay at home alone. Even if you just go to the mall or volunteer at the Salvation Army or something - don't stay at home alone.
Curious as to why you aren't a fan of Cortizone.....while it doesn't work for everyone, I have been getting them in my low back and knee every couple of years since a boating accident I was in back in 1990. If it is done right, it makes you feel better in minutes and reduces the inflammation of the cartilage.
I am a massage therapist and can give you some advice here.
1st a Chiropractor can help in some things not all. - Mainly small misalignment, pinched nerves
2nd a massage can help in some things but not all. - Mainly muscular issues, spasms
3rd - without actually touching your back and feeling the protein build up there, based on your description I would say that you probably have a protruding disc in your L3 or L4 region.
You need to go to the doctor - don't believe an Xray - An MRI will reveal the problem.
However, what you need to do is go to a Professional who will give you a cortisone shot which will act as a super anti-inflammatory. I don't trust anyone with this. Go to someone who has done it a lot!

As far as my proposal, I proposed to my ex fiance at Epcot Center during the Illuminations laser and fireworks show.....it wasn't exactly a surprise, we had talked about it, but it was good nonetheless.
I don't remember exactly what was said - I think I have purposefully blocked it all out.....it was romantic nonetheless.
I like to put boneless chicken breasts in a big bowl of italian dressing and poke the dressing through the breasts. I like to let it sit overnight in the fridge, but you don't have to.
Then barbecue them - about mid way through I will pour some italian dressing out of a bottle on them to help them marinate better - make sure it isn't from the original bowl that had teh raw chicken.
I have always thought about opening my own restaurant but I don't want to work that hard. Sometimes I substitute ingredients.
I hardly ever measure anything exact unless I am cooking a really big meal and then I try to be more exact so I don't have to make additional trips to the store.
I understand the relationships.....my problem is, where I live, it is impossible to find a woman my age who has not had multiple marriages. Maybe I need to write a book of Dating Horror stories.
