I haven't been here long enough to really make a lot of friends on here yet, but I wanted to let you know where I have been. I was hit by a car last week. It was a minor clip, or so I thought. I didn't go to the hospital or anything then and thought I would just be sore.
But when I got worse, I went to the Dr. who sent me to the hospital. I had 2 blood clots in my leg and fractured my femur at the joint and also fractured my pelvis. I can't believe I walked around for 2 days.
I was in the hospital since Thursday of last week and just got released this morning. I won't be on much because I can't really sit down, but I wanted to let everyone why I dropped off the planet.
Last night I had a couple of lady friends of mine over. We get together about every month. I love to cook and seldom have someone to cook for apart from them, so it is always fun.
One of them would love to hook up with me, but I know WAY too much about her past to consider it. We like hanging out though.
yep, usually it is said when they don't WANT to tell you because they are done thinking about it and you are being a pest. At least that is what my sister tells me. I have never heard those words personally.
I believe I read something about the Mayan's believing that the world would end in 2012. So, I did a google search and found this and other references to it.
I am sure X-files knew something of this when they predicted it - if they did. I have never seen the Xfiles how.
Anyway, as the "goddess" said, I think that only God knows when the end will come. If you believe in the Christian faith, there are several items that speak directly to the end....

So, will the end be in 2012? Only God knows......are we closer today to the end then we were yesterday, yep!
It is a great time for an entrepreneur to step up to the plate. Invent something that bypasses the gas prices and bring it to market. It is the American way!
I do not know about Canada's economy. Everything in Canada is a complete and total mystery to me.
That being said, from an economist standpoint, which was what I did for 15 years of my life, I can say we are not in recession.
I think the media would like us to be. The more they can downgrade our economy and create fear in the markets, the more likelihood they will have of getting their anointed one elected as president.
The definition of a recession is at least 2 straight quarters of economic downturn. We did have one quarter - half way there. But the figures were released for this quarter and the economy GREW by 2%.
In the U.S., despite layoffs, there is still only about a 5.6% unemployment, which is still historically very low. That means that laid off workers are not as fast to file for unemployment compensation because they are finding other positions.
We do have some pretty pressing issues that if not addressed WILL cause a recession, no matter which party is in office.
We have to decrease demand somewhat and increase our own production of oil.
We have to address rising health care costs.
These are two categories that are putting a tremendous strain on small business owners. While 1,000 people being laid off by a plant is certainly not a good thing, having millions of small business owners that have to lay off just one person because they cannot afford their payroll is a MUCH bigger effect.
Nope. I am testimony to that. I was in a 3 year relationship with a gal who I was ready to spend the rest of my life with. But her unresolved issues from a previous relationship ultimately led me to cut the relationship off.
Sounds like you are dangerously close to depression if you aren't already there. You are counting too much on the impersonal interaction of this internet relationship when you should focus more on the real life people and tasks around you.
I am not saying that talking with him, planning with him, and even loving him is wrong, but it sounds like you are digging a hole that is setting yourself up. What if you are finally together and it doesn't work out? Then what?
It is an old saying called "putting all your eggs in one basket." The problem with doing that is you set yourself up not to have any eggs at the end.
I agree with volunteering, go grocery shopping, go to the lake or park, do something to get yourself out of the house and your mind focused on something else.
Skybow, you apparently don't remember Carter. Under bush, we have never reached 6% unemployment, even in our worst times. And yet under Carter we were in double digit unemployment. there was gas rationing and everything. It was a nightmarish time.
I had a Volkswagen gulf I bought with $400 cash. It had 160,000 miles on it, a transmission problem, and a smash on the right front quarter panel. The interior was mint condition.
I rebuilt the transmission myself, replaced the front corner panel, put 300,000 miles on it and sold it for $500.00 cash. I had never worked on a car in my life other than changing the oil and routine maintenance and I determined I wanted to get a fixer so I could learn.
I took great pride in knowing what I did.
If you car looks like crap, I would definitely fix it if it doesn't cost too much.......I spent a total of $300 on mine to get it looking almost brand new.
If you properly diversify your stocks and invest in the right things, you wouldn't even feel any of the above. That is why it is always good to have a fund manager that knows what he is doing.
On the other hand, if I were a drinking man still, the 401-Keg plan would really speak to me.
I would say neither. I don't like some of his policies, especially having to do with immigration, but he definitely is not the worst president ever.......I reserve that right for Jimmy Carter - in my lifetime at least.
I think I should like to spend the day with Whatuwish4. I think so long as she doesn't have me doing all the yard work around the house and all the repairs that need to be done to her property, we would have a nice time.
I would also like to hang out with Hot dude or whatever his name is so that I can beat the crap out of him.....lol, jk.
its a good thing you ladies are older.....one of these younger ladies would probably get pregnant just being around the hot tub the way things are going.
