I try to make it a game but i'm the only 'native' English speaker they know..And the enemy is 125% fluent but refuses to speak English to them...
But setting a time limit is not a bad idea..45mins only English and if either one(dynamite and my mutt) speak French I kick their butt. Not a bad idea.
I have never forced them to speak English, With me they don't have a choice..If I watch a movie or cartoon it's always VO(generally engish). I've noticed that dynamite(daughter 8) is better than my mutt(son 7)but thats normal. I understand that girls twig on quicker than boys..
Straight up question...I've two daughters and my mutt. This is the craic my oldest wee girl will speak English to me sometimes and sometimes in French..But my smallest two speak always french. I know the understand English because when I speak to them in English they give me the correct response in French..How do I get them to give me the answer in English with out sounding like a school teacher (no disrespect to teachers).........
