What really amazes me - is how vehemently people oppose to having anyone touch them for anything. I wonder, do they scream out loud or faint when they go to a doctor ?
I'm gonna try a little experiment in the supermarket today - and snap on a pair of latex gloves while making eye contact with a woman in the meat section ..........
By the time two years rolls around .....people will have figured out that Conservative Rebuplicans still had no solutions ....and the pendulum will have already swung back the other way ....

I would agree with your point.....but it has been my experience that without a law prohibiting smoking in restaurants - smokers would be constantly testing the water in all restaurants .... Many smokers typically feel an entitlement to light-up anywhere - any time - regardless of who's down-wind.

It's the American way to expect instant gratification and results - and not give credit due to someone who hasn't work magic for their special needs at the time........
I think bars should have the choice....as people should expect whatever they get stepping into them...... But as for restaurants - I clearly remember many occasions when smokers very rudely lit-up and pissed-off everyone eating nearby ........ The law for restaurants no-smoking it a great step forward in protecting the rights for people not to be subjected to that
