The last time we had an incumbent president eligible for re-election that was such an abject failure that he couldn't even win his own party's nomination was 1968 when LBJ got thrown under the bus by democrats (what a track record they've got, huh?).
So will Obama be the next super-loser to take his place in history as such a remarkable failure?

Hillary will most likely beat him out of the Nomination! Wonder how he's gonna like it under the Bus in the Company of all the People he threw under it!
LBJ did not lose his bid to get the party's nomination, he announced he would not seek the nomination of his party for another term as President.
Tell ya what Cottontail, if you want to play your scenario all the way out tell us who your 'Nixon' of 2012 will be. :P
It's worth remembering that all the idiots you hate are people like you, and to their eyes you're just another idiot mixed in with the idiots THEY hate.

.
Good point. its rumored Obama will not seek re-election due to his unpopular standing with the American people and within his own party. The democratic party is checking out its options and the name Nancy has come up a few times... yikes. As for the republicans, it is rumored Palin may take a run at it and good ol' Mitt might take another crack at it, but dont be suprised is Obama, Nancy, Palin, and Mitt all do not make the cut and instead go for someone outside the beltway.
The rest of what you said to that guy was straight mean, dude.

Hey, Sally. How far back do you have to go to find a democrat that was such an abysmal loser that he couldn't win the party nomination for 2nd term, then, if you don't want to count LBJ? My word, sweet cheeks, are you saying that Obama is an even bigger loser than the original question could have presumed?
P.S. I don't hate people stupid enough to think I'm an idiot. I feel a special sort of pity for them because life has to be particularly tough when you go through it that stupid.
Bush didn't do such a hot job during his 8 years. He got us into two wars which never should've taken place. Now that Obama's in office we're still in those stupid wars.
It doesn't matter who happens to be in office from either party cause we're screwed anyway. It's called bend over here it comes.

I know it's impossible to discuss Obama without "but but but Bush" coming into the discussion, but we're talking about a really historic sort of failure when we're talking about a president that can't even get a NOMINATION from his own party for a 2nd term.

Obama may get re-elected one never knows. How can someone who's only been in acouple years be considered a loser? He inherited a mess.

My,ain't you a smart one! You would probably seek a Nomination even though you know you can't win it!
Albertaghost: I see. So he didn't campaign on fixing things. Strange, he should have let McCain or Hillary win then as they said they could.
No I disagree with your comment that he wanted the mess.People didn't vote for Hillary cause of what her husband did while in office. Also because she voted for the war Obama didn't or so he claims.I don't like the fact that during Obamas campaign that he stated that he was going to bring the troops home and put an end to the wars.He also payed visits to Ohio to brag about how he was going to put people back to work.

He did as without it he would have no position. He was against the war in Iraq and that was part of the mess and, he campaigned on it. McCain also did the same however, what separated the two was the economy and, the bail out which Obama pushed to no end in order to beat McCain out. If Obama did not want this mess then certainly he could have done the world a favor and not taken it prior to November 2. Point is, Obama won the election on the economy, nothing else as his positions on Iraq were the same as McCains with different window dressing - it was the economy that separated the two. Without that economy and the problems that cropped up during the campaign, Obama would probably have lost.

And look where the economy is now.Wasn't there a story where some money was put back into the economy which caused the dollar to go down in value or something like that?
It's hard sometimes to keep track of all this political stuff.
All the bills both sides put together and then there vetoed etc.
I feel that sometimes politicans cut their own throats so to speak and we the American people come out being the loser.

Obama wanted the problems as he wanted to enact his policies and, in order to get the power he lied saying he could fix everything through hope and change but here he now says it was alright to lie while campaigning;
"Obama: That's one of the dangers of assuming power. And you know, when you're campaigning, you, I think you're liberated to say things without thinking about, "Okay, how am I gonna actually practically implement this."
By the time two years rolls around .....people will have figured out that Conservative Rebuplicans still had no solutions ....and the pendulum will have already swung back the other way ....
Albertaghost: Correction. He wanted this mess more than anything and, fought tooth and nail on the premise that he would fix the mess.
Do you find a problem with a person who desparately wants to be POTUS so that he/she can undo as many of the mistakes and errors that have been foisted on the people by corrupt politicians of the past? Things like 50,000,000 (latest count)Americans with no access to healthcare, Getting the US out of a holy war in the middle east started by a born again zealot, restoring an economy virtually wiped out by the last administration, the Patriot Act, domestic spying without a court order, denial of due process etc etc.
BTW all you non Americans why don't you talk about your own wonderful government instead of meddling in ours?
One more thing, Obama will be nominated by the Democratic party for a second term, of that there is no doubt.
