The whole town of coonamble gathered around to watch the river peak. It's like an annual event and probably the most exciting thing that ever happens there. The premier has visited there twice in the last fortnight. Guess she was excited about the river to ! 2 kids apparently got washed into the river as well but eventually got rescued safe and sound. The river is usually just a trickle but during the wet season it rises about 15 meters.
The Peninsula is a bit rough in places but Ettalong is OK. I think parts of Umina have great investment potential to. Gotta be the cheapest beach frontage within 100km of Sydney. Also close to trains.
I'm from the country so I guess I take it for granted but there's a few places around where you can go to the river, pebbley beaches, the sound of the water, the willows and the gums and going for a swim on a hot day
that's getting away from it all for a country boy.

I have a phobia of sharks. That's why I swim in the ocean when ever possible. Heights make me extremley nervous so I climb as high as I can and fly if I can afford it etc etc. But that's the way of it, you have to scare your self witless just to get a good adrennalin rush.
