Dating sites have replaced the old method of finding someone by advertising in newspapers or marriage agencies. Basically is the same characteristics,as the old times,but now is more direct,and much quicker,has a bit of fun,and cost less.-All those question in your thread,were there then,and still are now in all dating sites.-
