RE: He wore lipstick, dresses & heels every full moon ...

That sounds like a Twilight sequel. Needs more sparkles though.

RE: How can people afford to date these days?

How? Well, that's easy: By having more imagination than that.

RE: The Friend Zone

Dude, stop being a nice guy.

RE: Do u think is better not wait too much in net..

I always try to move it to meatspace after just a few emails, it very handily separates the time wasters from those that may actually be interested in dating.

RE: alright girls what do you go for in a man

You forgot the most important option:

O "A perfect warrior-poet willing to commit to them and love them for all eternity in between time spent ruling the galaxy."

:D

RE: Why men love to barbeque and take all the credit.........

You do realize that most of what you've listed there is actually not necessary?

Men would be happy to, at best, just grab a bag of bread and use them as "plates" to hold the meat while they eat it, salad and dessert be damned... :D

It's a shout-out to our hunter-gatherer days, when we cooked the fresh kill on an open fire and laughed at/with the poor sod who got kicked by the antelope out there in the plains.

RE: single women married men!

It is enough to draw statistically significant differences between groups. Remember, it's not so much to put an exact number on something, but rather if the trend of the difference between group A and group B is significant. For that question you don't need an exceedingly large sample size.

I said attractive physically or otherwise. Whatever elements enter into the equation it's undeniably that the woman pursues that relationship in great part because she's attracted to the man (and vice versa) not just because he's physically hot, but because he has qualities that she seeks in a man - consciously or not.

RE: single women married men!

It says right there, 200 people.

Have you ever heard of statistical methods?

There are plenty of people doing a lot of things. That's not the point, the point is that the relationship status tends to be significant only when single women meet attractive (physically or otherwise) attached men, and is not a factor at all in any other scenario.

RE: single women married men!

Actually, women are quite different from men when it comes to this. See:

RE: GUYS, what is most important to u in a woman?

My only "must have" requirements are:

- Don't be fat.
- Don't smoke.

So I chose the "tone body" option. Everything else is negotiable.

RE: What Is Your Biggest Weakness?

My biggest weakness? The Overhead Press. Damn thing is driving me batty, just don't seem to get any better at it.

RE: Tried a 1200 calorie diet?

Weight yourself every day or every other day. The reason is that weight can easily vary by pounds in a very short time (both up and down) due to water retention or loss. Dot it daily to be able to easily spot the trends. If you happen to weight yourself in a day when you've retained much water you may get the mistaken impression that the last two weeks were crap, whereas a sudden blip on a clearly downwards slope will not make you bat an eyelash.

RE: Tried a 1200 calorie diet?

Not quite. Cortisol management is one of the keys for a successful exercise and diet program :)

Feeling positive and resting lots will help anyone with it. Conterintuitive, huh? Rest lots to lose more fat.

RE: Tried a 1200 calorie diet?

Not quite, men have cortisol problems too - typically seen on people who go on quick diets and cut down massively on what they eat. Lose weight and muscle, but they slow their metabolism and it comes back. This is the same for both genders.

What men have is a hell of a lot more testosterone. The effect of it is that men can drag themselves out of the slow metabolism pit a lot faster, simply because they can re-build the muscle and kick the metabolism up with its help at a rate that only genetic outlier women can match. Women need much longer term planning for it, but once the foundation is established they can tick along well with minimal care and just keeping the basics covered.

RE: Tried a 1200 calorie diet?

Don't go much below ~1,600 calories. Less than that starts putting a lot of stress on the body.

Don't cut down calories suddenly. This will trigger a stress response where the body will go into starvation mode and start saving as much as possible. Go down gradually.

Don't diet for long. Cycle with going back to maintenance levels (and even above, if you're exercising) for a while, then slowly cut down again. As said before, avoid the sudden stressful changes. Don't be afraid of having one cheat meal a week so that your body remembers what it's like to have good supply of calories - avoid the stress response of starvation!

Do high intensity interval training, not long steady slow cardio. Long steady cardio will eat up at your muscle when glycogen stores run out (this is not something up for discussion, Pyruvate decarboxylation is an irreversible step in our metabolism, so if you burn all your sugar you WILL go into gluconeogenesis and start breaking down protein - muscle; that's bad). Long cardio has also the downside of slowing down your metabolism as the body becomes more efficient at doing it, so as it's been kindly pointed out, vary it a bit. Sprints, elliptic, rowing, cross-training, there are a million easy ways to do interval. Best way, you'll reap the benefit with as little as 20-30 minutes.

Don't be afraid of doing weight lifting exercises - real free weights, not machines. As a woman, you simply don't have the testosterone levels to get ripped or muscular without juicing, so don't worry about it. A firmer base of muscles will have the following benefits: Higher breasts (due to better support), perkier butt, and a higher base metabolism. Long term benefits include preventing osteoporosis, a good thing too.

Avoid processed carbs like the plague - go wholemeal. Distribute your carb intake along the day, so that you keep glycogen stores topped up and you don't burn the precious, high-metabolism muscle.

Most importantly, remember this is a permanent lifestyle change. One of the key reasons why all diets fail is the "I've lost the weight, I can go back to eating normal again" mentality. The previous normal is what got you there, so nip it at the bud. Good change on the diet and habits > quick fix of self-starvation to lose pounds faster. Take the weight off and KEEP IT OFF.

Good luck :)

RE: Why are you single?

Apathy.

RE: What was the BEST thing you've accomplished in the last year?

Started with my freelance writing... And got some of it already published.

Life's good.

RE: do u often drink milk ?

I'm currently working my way into drinking a gallon of milk a day. In a couple of months I'll start cutting again and go back to 1/2 - 1 litre a day.

RE: Have u ever been inlove to a person that`s not supposed to loved??

No such thing, as long as she's legal and not a blood relative!

(The second's easy though, imprinting during infancy will stamp that one out).

RE: ARE YOU ALONE THIS CRISTMAS?

I'm going to spend Christmas with friends, so I feel damn good about it!

RE: Worst day of The Year to be Single/Alone? ; (

The day they're giving free stuff you like only to couples :D

RE: do you ever feel lonely at night

Nope, I like having my big bed all for myself. Sharing it has its benefits, but the lack of space feels very constricting. I likes my space.

RE: A question that I could not answer without serious thought (Can you?)

A mirror.

RE: How many cups of coffee do you drink a day?

Uh... no 0?

RE: Do you think you are single, because you are picky???

I'm not single because I'm picky, I'm single because women are picky.

...

What? :D

RE: Who do you Blame- Why you don't date outside your race?

Where's the "I blame the women from other races because they're not interested in dating me"? :D

RE: you love your partner, can you change your religion for him/her

Chances are, if she's religious we were not going to match anyway.

RE: is height an issue for you when looking for a partner?

Yep, I much prefer at least 5'7", shorter than that makes logistics difficult.

RE: Capricorn Men!!!!

Probably the fact that you're trying to "understand" a diverse group of men by throwing them together based on a completely arbitrary value, i.e., date of birth?

Just an idea, you know.

RE: Right now, are you happy?

Quite happy, in fact. Got an article published this month, doing my NaNoWriMo, got some decent projects at work, life's good!
