I use these sites purely for entertainment value 
You can't possibly get to know someone by tapping away on a keyboard back and forth, let's face it.
And until you meet that person, in the flesh, you haven't even begun a relationship or to found out if that person is as they say they are, in every way.
It's like a penpal kind of concept, to me .. the meeting is where it really starts

I think it pays to step back from this regularly and realise that it's really not worth all the agony and angst that people seem to put themselves through
Most on here seem to long for someone who's far away, with little or no hope of ever meeting them.
A reality check now and then is healthy, in my opinion.
Just enjoy the fun and don't take it too seriously is all Im suggesting, as many of us do

Once again i have to agree with what you are saying lass,i find it very hard to be serious here on the forums,some folks here with totally amazing personalities and not realise the talents that they have as people..

I always try to move it to meatspace after just a few emails, it very handily separates the time wasters from those that may actually be interested in dating.
