Well maybe you wouldn't drive 4 hours for coffee. This is what I did last night. There is a lady on this site that I have exchanged a few emails with and last evening I asked her to meet me for dinner at the Olive Garden tonight. The place was chosen by her in her town. I did it this way to ensure her comfort in her surroundings. Being a single man that works, I eat out a lot anyway. I figure for the cost of a meal, I have good company and conversation that may end up as a friend or even my next lover. I don't like to eat alone. I left for the meeting from work. It was 33 miles to get there. It was 80 miles from there to home. I enjoyed her company, so the extra drive was worth it.
Yes I have. I just got home from a meeting/dinner with a woman from this site. I like the forums but I'm here to find a lover. Not gonna do that if I stay glued to this screen.
I am not in a rush at all. But, I see nothing wrong in meeting someone that is local, quickly. It has nothing to do with trying to get laid. It has to do with wanting to see and talk to a real person instead of a computer screen.
Talking online has a tendency to build up false expectations and fantasies about who a person is. I don't want to have an emotional connection to a fantasy, only to be let down when we eventually meet in person.
What difference does it make if you meet for coffee and talk face to face in a public place, when distance isn't an issue?

I see some really beautiful ladies on this site and most of them are a great distance from me. If I am communicating with someone and I believe we are a good match, I have no problem hopping a plane to find out. I'm going to the UK in September. Not to meet someone, just a vacation. I do expect to meet one very nice lady that is here and helping me to make arrangements. I'm going to London and Dublin.
I consider anyone on the North American continent close enough for a weekend visit. Europe takes a little more planning.
Well since I'm not in a lover's embrace, I went out into the snow fired up the grill and grilled a nice thick porterhouse steak. Made fries (chips) and a salad. I gave a half the steak to toby and a can of tuna to shadow. Not a bad afternoon.
I didn't go into a deep discussion of electronic because only those who have studied it would fully understand. I am here to flirt with the ladies not discuss electronics or the bible with a man.
Something to consider. Toyota builds cars in America. Toyota is not a Union Factory. Obama and the leftist media hate Toyota because they are winning market share from the union plants. There have been numerous recalls on Fords, Chevies, and Chrysler. But they never get the media attention that this one got. There are currently 2 on my Ford F350 right now and one is for the throttle control sensor. Potential for loss of control and uncontrolled speed increase or the engine dies. The other is a potential fire hazard. I know of the problems and had my mechanic check them out. BTW the First one I listed resulted in death or serious injury. Did you see it plastered all over the news?

Its snowing as we speak and I'm the only one that arrived at the office. I live 57 miles from work and I'm always the first one here. Snow is great I have an excuse to play on my tractor. I already had 13 inches in my yard before this storm started. They are predicting 10 more today.
I have thought of building my next house off grid. How often do you have to replace your batteries and what kind do you use? As for generator fuel I have a natural gas well on my land that will fuel a back up generator. I just don't like the idea of changing the oil every 40 hours of use.
I've had the feeling once. It was not a physical attraction. I heard her down stairs in the barracks arguing with the charge of quarters. Her voice was like sweet music to me and I had to know who it was. She was a new soldier being assigned to my company.
As time went by we bumped into each other. I was usually toung tied and felt like I was 16 and back in high school instead of a combat veteran. I was incredibly shy in her presence, and that was not normal for me. Some of my troops started razing me about it.
As good fortune would have it the platoon threw a surprise party on my birthday. (Any excuse to party). I got a birthday kiss from her and it felt like I was hit by a stun gun. I nearly hit the floor. As I recovered from shock, I blurted out you are the one I am meant to be with. (much to the shock of my girl friend that was standing right there). This happened in Feb 83, we were married in July 83. It never changed for me through out our marriage. Her voice remained music to my ears and the sight of her made my heart race. I would have gladly given my life if it would have prolonged hers.
If I understand the question.. I would move in with a woman I love. I would not sell my own house. Sometimes things just don't work out the way you hoped. I would probably rent it out on a short term lease for a period of time. I have a lot of stuff. She would have to have a big garage for my toys.
I believe some problems arise due to cultural differences. What is funny to someone in Indiana may not be understood by someone in Asia. I just try to treat everyone with respect and not get into pissing contests with people that I really don't know. Humor at someone's expense is rude and shows a lack of character.
I lived in Germany for 3 years and traveled all over Europe. I also spent 6 months in England. I have traveled all over Central and some of South America. I have also lived in South Korea for 14 months and traveled to Japan and Philippines. One of the benefits of military service
I was checking out renting a motorcycle while there. 1870 dollars to rent my bike for 10 days. I can ship mine air freight round trip for that. I might just bring the bike with me.
I know how you feel. Everytime I find someone I am attracted to, they are in Europe and half the time their profile reads they are not looking for anyone only here for the forums. So.. I am in the process of planning a trip to.. Europe.
