I have all these wild native birds that I have started feeding in my yard, but I have been careful that they dont become dependant upon me as a food source.
I think part of the myth is that birds in flight are so majestic & in a lot of cultures they hold signifigance.
I dont know about the blackbird & death myth. My grandmother used to have pet budgies in the retirement village then the nursing home.
her ashes are under a Jacaranda Tree at my sisters hobby farm. On the 12 month anniversary of my grandmothers death. My niece & sister watched as 2 budgies sat in the jacaranda tree at the same time she passed away then flew off.
