RE: Obama -State of the Union

I am the same as you I have always respected Ttom for not only his faith but also what he has to say in his posts. I also have a lot of respect for your posts also .thumbs up

I do remember Bushes religious rhetoric for the reasons behind his desicion to so to Iraq, it was almost like he believed it was a crusade all over again.

I feel even though we may not agree with what the leaders of our respective countries do or at times say, I feel they are almost stuck between a rock & a hard place. They are damned if the for arguments sake use a lot of religious undertones in their speeches & then they are damned if they dont do the same.

RE: Can you name someone at CS who has made a positive impact in you?

What you & Merri have said is spot on. I believe that by standing up to those who choose to do the bullying & harassing on here , by being friendly, having a sense of humour, friendly stirring, etc then we will be the ones who will enjoy this site far more & encourage others to do the same

RE: Can you name someone at CS who has made a positive impact in you?

There are so many people on here that I both regard as friends & also have the highest respect for, and I feel it would be disrespectful to list them as I am bound to forget someone. But also the beauty of this site is that each day I get to come across someone new

RE: lifestyle changes.......

when I was diagnosed with diabetes I had to drastically alter my diet , much to my horror ( and yes childish temper tantrums) , also making sure I eat regularly etc, for my BSL . It has been worth it. Now I have new diet restrictions, exercise & work restrictions all because of surgery I have just under gone.

This time around it has been a struggle trying to stick to everything but I am perceviering.

RE: JD.SELINGER

My sentiments exactly. The Catcher In The Rye is a wonderful masterpiece.

But I also feel he cant be remembered as an all time great. Personally I feel he was an incredibly talented author & because of this one novel was probably an influence to other aspiring authors in similar genre's.

It is also difficult to tell whether he only had one major novel in him or if he kept publishing would have produced more works of similar quality
