RE: what makes men

Their own insecurity.....and it's the pits, believe me.

I'll never again date a jealous man. I'm talking about unfounded jealousy here.....not jealousy for cause.

RE: Could your past love life make a good movie?

A guy told me once it would be a bestseller.

RE: Make Up Your Mind...

I ALWAYS make up my own mind and rarely ask anyone's opinion.

After all I'm the one who knows best what I need and want.

RE: Part 2 NO GAME PLAYERS.....like we really mean it......

I NEVER play games and immediately dump any guy who tries to play games with me!!

....and as for longtime married couples fondly recalling long ago game playing.....my parents were happily married til death did they part ....and if I'd ever showed them what you wrote they would have been dumbfounded!!

RE: OK, alot of us on here are...

I've gotten lots of proposals but one marriage was enough for me.

I'm looking for dates only.

RE: My joke of the day

I never heard it before.....but I did it once late at night and got off on the first side road I could find after I realized it.

RE: How would you react if......

You calmly unbuckle the kids from their seats and take them and yourself out of harms way.

The engine is NOT going to blow the car up or the gas pumps either. It will more than likely burn itself out if the ignition is off....which it should be if you are going to pump gas.

Someone can call for help to put out the fire (if it's not out already) out while you do your primary job of taking care of your kids.

We're not taking about a conflagration here....I have seen MANY, MANY car engines on fire and nothing ever happened to harm anyone except maybe a bit of singed hair and eyebrows when it "blew up" unexpectedly while working on it.

RE: hey any one fro NY

Snowing here!!

RE: Who Deserves It??

Our parents owe us NOTHING beyond taking care of us to the best of their ability until we reach the age of majority.

Traditionally children took care of their aging parents and then inherited whatever was left because they earned it.

As someone who worked as a Senior Citizen Advocate for many years, I can vouch for the fact that today's grown kids for the most part don't give their parents anything....nor financially, emotionally, or otherwise.

RE: Why are my threads so serious

Counting town, city and village we have approx 40,000 pop but it's rural enough for me. My house is centrally located but very private...no nearby neighbors and no noise.

I grew up on a farm and hated the isolation. My Mom grew up in New York City and I hated that too when we went down for a couple weeks vacation at my grandmother's house.

There has to be a happy medium and I think I've finally found it.LOL.

RE: Why are my threads so serious

Things must be different where you live.

I was asked to be a member of the Board of Directors at one of our local organizations. I didn't even apply.

I am also a volunteer at Mental Health. For that I had to be fingerprinted and have a background check but that's understandable.

Our local TV station regularly asks for volunteers for our Disater Preparedness programs including non professionals for telephone and clerical duties.....and there are scads of other opportunities to numerous to mention including at our local hospitals.

RE: Why are my threads so serious

That's sad.....being a "hermit" I mean!!

Seriously, have you thought about volunteering?? You will lose your "hermit" status and will be doing something useful and personally rewarding.

..and the women you meet at these organizations are not likely to fall in love with you (couldn't resist that last part, LOL).

RE: Why are my threads so serious

I'm not a zombie and people never misread my intentions because I make those intentions clear right up front!!

For example I will never relocate and/or will never remarry, so guys know right away that if they happen to be looking for a spouse they need not waste their time on me.

BTW it's doubtful that "semantics" give these women false encouragement....and no, I was not talking about physical intimacy either.

RE: Why are my threads so serious

Why would you want to be romantic with a platonic friend??

I have platonic male friendships and these friendships don't involve romance in any way, shape or form.

BTW while you are allowing these women to "fall in love with you" because of your mixed messages, you are taking up their valuable time. They could be looking for and perhaps finding someone who is able to return their love.

RE: Primal point

It's not regional.

I've heard guys use that expression since I was a kid.LOL......not about me of course!!

RE: smoking and quiting---what is it?

I quit 7 years ago today without fanfare after smoking from age 17. ...I was hungry for 2 yrs and tired all the time for 6 months but that was about it.....no weight gain or any other s/s..and no patches or any other "helper" drugs.

Thinking about all that money I was saving surely helped too.LOL.

RE: What Song Describes Your Last Relationship?

"Cheating's a Two Way Street"....."and neither way will lead me home".

I don't remember who sang it....it's an older Country Western song.

RE: How common are....

I have a separate web-based emil addy that I use for Personals.

One reason I send my private addy to someone is so he will have no excuse not to send a pic. I NEVER meet anyone sight unseen .....and there are lots of guys who don't post a photo with their Profile.

RE: No matter how careful you are

That is terrible.

I don't do IM because I find it boring and constricting trapped at the computer typing senseless chitchat in real time to people I will never meet....or in many cases never want to. LOL.

That said, I'm trying to translate a computer virus into identity theft of your bank account and am at a loss....no pun intended.

Have you gone to the local paper with your story?? My exhusband was a victim of identity theft and when he tried to close out his bank account the bank left it open. They had to restore the full amount of his loss after he had it spread all over town thru the nespaper about what they did....bad for business yiou know.

RE: What would you do If...

If you mean ex husband I just got back from Thanksgiving dinner with him. LOL.

If you mean ex boyfriend I don't speak to ANY of my ex boyfriends after a breakup.

RE: 10 dumb guys, a woman and a helicopter

It sure as Hell wouldn't be me.

As far as I'm concerned men are supposed to protect and take care of women.....or is "chivalry" just a quaint old-fashioned word now??

RE: THE ILLUMINATI

Yes it is....and every time we went back and forth from Flint to NYS we stopped at Niagara Falls. My kids were little then and never tired of it.

I still remember the spray from the Falls could be felt as soon as we stepped out of the car. The first time I didn't realize what it was for a minute.

RE: THE ILLUMINATI

No the QEW didn't go all the way to Mi then either. I used to take the QEW and then cross from Sarnia in Canada over a bridge to MI. I don't recall the town but would know the name if I heard it.

This was back in the mid sixties when my (now ex) husband was working construction out in Flint. So the tiny details are escaping me at the moment.LOL.

RE: THE ILLUMINATI

Thanks, Prof.

I haven't been out that way in a long time. I used to cross into MI from Ontario at Sarnia....QEW all the way across Ontario after crossing the bridge from NYS into Canada.

I loved Michigan in those days but I hear Flint is a "ghost town" now. Is Frankenmuth still there with all that good German food??

RE: THE ILLUMINATI

That's very interesting.

Suppose someone had a gun to your head and was going to blow your brains out. How would you master that reality??

My thought for the day: "The only behavior we can control is our own". That's called "nitty gritty" reality.LOL.

RE: THE ILLUMINATI

What river is that, Prof?? Your Profile states that you live in GEORGIA ????

RE: Long Haired Men Where Have They Gone?

My 38 year old son still has his long hair. He wears it in a ponytail when necessary but most of the time leaves it loose.

His job (heavy construction) doesn't require a dress code......except for safety reasons. LOL.

RE: Would You Share ....

No, I would not!!

I don't even eat or drink after anyone let alone use something as personal as someone's toothbrush.

Why would anyone want to do such a thing anyway?? I find the thought disgusting.

RE: If YOU were interested in someone on CS - would YOU make the FIRST move?

Where canned goods are stored....used to be called the cellar.

RE: If YOU were interested in someone on CS - would YOU make the FIRST move?

Of course I'd make the first move.....it's 2006....not 1906. LOL.
