I agree with you on Martin Luther King as he fought for civil rights, Diana cos she raised a lot of money for the poor but Fayed? He was just a son of a billionaire who used his dad's money to make some crap movies. Ok Chariots of Fire was quite good, but seriously, how would he make the world a better place
I grew up in africa, if i had a pound for every mozzie bite i'd make bill gates look like a pauper. When i was about 8 we went on holiday to swaziland, the morning of the first day i looked like i had chicken pox, was covered from head to toe
Can't really say without giving away the story, due yourself a favour and watch it, I think HMV have most of Charlie Chaplin's movies, they usually have like 5 movies on one disc as the movies were so short in those days. All i'll say is that she was obviously blind and when she says she can see now she doesn't mean literally but metaphorically as she comes to a realisation at the end of the movie when she meets Charlie's character outside the flower shop.
Virginia Cherrill (April 12, 1908 - November 14, 1996) was an American actress best known for her role as the blind flower girl in Charlie Chaplin's City Lights (1931). Due to marrying an English earl in the 1940s, she is also known as Virginia Child-Villiers, Countess of Jersey.
It's a great movie, puts all these modern day rom-coms to shame, I am a big fan of Charlie Chaplin, he wasn't just a comedic actor as a lot of people seem to think, but a brilliant all-round actor who also directed many movies over a very long career
My favourite scene is the closing scene in City Lights, Charlie Chaplin's classic from 1931. I guess you need to watch the entire movie to really appreciate it but i'll post it anyway, really brilliant.
Oh wow, I'm really surprised. This is one of my all time favourite movies. More people need to know about it, you don't see it much in video stores. Genius of a movie. Jake the Mus. Possibly the most vile character to ever appear on screen. Great choice QoK's
1. Everton 2. Former player Diego Maradona, current player Lionel Messi 3.Rinus Michels 4. Liverpool 5. Ronaldinho for Barcelona against Werder Bremen in champions league a few years ago. He fooled everyone by keeping the ball low and everyone in the wall jumped over it, genius.
