If I am able to approach unseen it will be a very bad day for the attacker.
If it is going to be a fight....I'll get into it so the victim can maybe get away.
If it's like the mugger has a gun and sees me.....I'd have to get the cops or something.....cuz I don't walk around w/ a gun myself....but if I did - I'd use it.
Now this is a good chance for you to learn. Go around the nation and meet people - not just hang out w/ people you know and make you always feel comfortable - such as mostly Arabs.
I lived outside my country and have also submerged myself in groups where I was often the only "outsider" and learned a lot....
When I lived in PI I often heard that. During a visit back I ran into a guy that I knew years before and he told me that he finally got to go somewhere cold and that he hated it and would never go back....and I had to say "told ya so."
