Thanks. I wore it to a local crawdad festival last month and a rock band performing there took a picture of me and posted it on their web site! I keep making new facebook friends that way too. It may work out, even if not directly.
The whole idea is to get people to talk to me in person. No one will respond online in my area on any of the dating sites. At least this is a good icebreaker in public and does get attention. (Even if it's just to ask me what "BBW" means) LOL. If enough people see it, they're likely to tell their friends, co-workers, etc. about it.
I had to post this again. The old one is buried deep in the archives now. I had a lot of positive remarks the first time around. And yes I have had younger women shoot me with their cell phone cams and offer to post it all over facebook to help me find someone. Haven't met anyone that way yet but I keep trying (and using the sites too)

Well put. I know I couldn't handle that and don't want to. And I'm up front about not dating single moms (it's even on my shirt). I've been single most of my life, just started dating recently, so I really don't want a woman already tied down with kids or grandkids. Just my preference. I have a 33 yr old niece who never wanted kids either and wouldn't date a guy who showed interest in ever wanting kids. Now she is happy living with her bf of 7 yrs.
I only paid once and it was on a site where free members can communicate with paid members. The one month I did pay I got flooded with scam mails from Africa and eastern Europe. Never anyone close. Also on most paid sites you'll find no one can reply back to your msgs unless they also pay. With all the different sites advertising and competing against each other, you may have little chance of finding anyone within 100 miles on those sites unless you are in a big city.
On the free sites I do use everyone nearby seems real and I have had nice dates. You can check them out on facebook if you type "free BBW dating sites" into the search bar at the top of your FB page. You will find a good page about BBW and regular dating sites.
You also need to get on some of the free American based sites. They have a lot more people on them. I've met 5 women in the past 2 years and chatted with others within 100 miles of me. I use at least 5 sites.
It can be quite an attention getter in the local wal-mart. It gets women talking to me first! Actually I've had some success on dating sites, just can't get any online response in or near my home town.
I found tagged.com may be another good site to meet people on. Just had someone 90 miles away send me her email... And then there's always my old "standby":
And don't laugh, I wore it last weekend at a downtown fall festival in a nearby town and got noticed by several nice young women who took pictures of me and offered to try and find me a date!
I love #8 above, but I have one of my own which may look lame, but I'm finally getting results with it. Just by wearing my "seeking a girlfriend..." shirt:
Yeah, I finally tried it again today at a downtown fall festival in a smaller nearby town now that the weather has gotten nice & cool. Several nice young women from the high school band boosters food vendor tent called me over to take pictures of me, plan to spread it all around their own facebook pages and offered to try and find me a date! I should find out in a few days........ At least I got noticed this time!
That's the problem with the forums on all of these sites. Only a handfull of people post 99% of the topics and replies. Most members never use the forums. For Americans, the best sites are plenty of fish, datehookup, and OKcupid. At least most everyone is real on those and you don't get loads of scam mails.
On every site I've been on the biggest problem is most of the users that come up in a search never log in to check their messages (or haven't in over a month - possibly much longer). Can't contact members that rarely or never check email. At least when I'm looking I try to log into every site once a day to keep my profile at the top of searches.
I think scammers know how to hack into these sites and get around the filtering. I get them on singlesnet and you have to pay to contact free members on that site (and I don't pay). And I don't think the scammers are paying $15 to $25 a month to contact free members. But they are all half my age and easy to spot.
I just noticed while checking mine, if you leave all the entries blank (unchecked) you won't be able to get mail from anybody. Or at least that is how it is worded there. Had to go add checks to a bunch of stuff. Maybe that's why only scammers get through.
I've had quite a few favorites since the 1960s, but in recent years "Survivor" with Jeff Probst is my all time fav followed by "The Amazing Race" hosted by New Zealand's Phil Keoghan.
Hi Kittt, Being an international site, there's not many locals on here. I've had good luck on plenty of fish, datehookup and singlesnet. Met several real locals that way without all the scam mail. On SN you will get bombarded with scam mails if you upgrade, but free members can talk to paid members. OKcupid is also a good US site.
Well I found it last year on another site, just didn't quite work out. But it was my first and I will always cherish the experience. American sites like POF and DH are bigger and work well over here and don't attract scam mail! So don't give up. The forums are still nice over here.
Since I started this in the beginning of 2010, I met 5 women in person on three other sites (but not on here). 3 were just dates, but two turned into several month relationships (including one that got intimate which I don't regret. ) So it can and does work if you keep at it long enough.
here is a picture I took several years ago out the back window on a cold January day. ---- IMAGE REMOVED because photobucket.com no longer allows embedded images ----
