The Well

How many stories in your well
Is it deep from heaven to hell
Are there ones you just can't tell

Oh ...well of mine

Was your path straight an true
Was direction easy for you
Was the sun shining never blue

Easy to define....

I've walked the path of treachery
Stupidity walked right beside me
Where a thought was 'sposed to be

But not to refine...

I've sat of the fence of identity
Looked both sides to set me free
But never did i jump ...reality

'Twas not my time...

I've been painted by a different brush
My place here not to rush
Exposure of all would be too much

'Tis but a rhyme

On my journey to the end
Knowledge of such i would befriend
Before funeral pyres they do send

My soul to resign...

The Field

I stumbled upon a field
A field of word an thought
Where ideas blossom within ink
An comments n'er are bought

Where expression is an art
Of individual choice
Painted by experience
Submitted by your voice

They come from far an wide
To wander in this field
A gathering of minds
To nurture on the yield

Talented people they would be
From all corners of the earth
Their history their canvass
Where painted words give birth

Inked from the blood
That dwells within
Sculptured by the mind
From beginning to end

A plateau of reasoning
Amidst the high an low
Come wander in this field
An watch your self grow

Fertile is the ground
That you walk upon
Words that are found
Will make you belong

Nourish what you need
On your journey's way
Your limits be freed
Enticing you to stay

Share what you can
Share what you will
Come dance in the field
An let your heart be still

reveal

To unravel your words
With a wisdom of ages
To interpret them
With the knowlege of sages
To fill my own reasoning
With thoughts that share
Are hand written words
That the soul did prepare
Many ways you can see
Many ways you can feel
The honesty of ink
Is the way to reveal...

the rainbow

Can you see the rainbow
For i know not where it are
Will you help me find it
For the way is kind of dark

The pot of gold i search for
In every possible way
Will you help me find it
To get through another day

The treasure in what you seek
In life,has many faces
Will you help me find it
I've looked in many places

Love wealth an happiness
Are just a few of thee
Will you help me find it
So i may set myself free

Next time you see the rainbow
Liven up your spirits an feel
You will help me find it
For together we will heal

Fast Faster Flying

Met an old couple while on holiday
Sprightly was the word i'd say
She was seventy six ..in her way
She was only thirty five

He was eighty years old
But old was replaced by bold
No fear or blood cold
For he was alive

They were exploring all they can
They were having fun 'twas the plan
Time wasn't any demand
A full life they did strive

She had an apartment on the coast
He was a friend a patron an host
Not sure who made me laugh the most
I had to take a dive

She bought this place you see
For it had everything in it for thee
A gym a pool an quality
Her desire to survive

Their subaru was something unique
Three months wait was worth the sleek
Overtaking road trains there was no meek
Just a casual drive

People come an people go
Some fast some slow
All with stories an their know
Like bees to a hive

Real fortunate the lives i see
Perception is reality
Inspiration three parts thee
I'm glad to be alive.......

restless sleep

everyone is born with a beautiful heart
right from the very very start
its the corridors of life
that get you into strife

so be there way

some dark lonely places
reflecting saddened faces
like voids an empty spaces
bad manners an no graces

everyone has a say

or the brightness of light
everything is alright
love is your respite
living a delight

a joy for today

what should be right
is but wrong
is that what changed
where you belong

i can not say

darkness meanders around us all
waiting silently for us to fall
will you walk or will you crawl
grit your teeth or just bawl

no time to play

hope is so far far away
i'm only a child here today
i understand not the words you say
influence is but survival anyway

please can i stay

i ponder on the lives of then
how it affected women an men
whats different between now an when
when solace was seeking a friend

i hope an pray

reasons of life run very deep
secrets for themselves to keep
embracing life or maybe weep
the joy of love or restless sleep

the beauty of time

time is an essence that nobody can deny
the healer of wounds the mover of our sighs
every second every minute every hour of our day
moving ever so fast never to come again this way

it will bring back memories of loved ones passed
create anticipation of a joy yet grasped
can put perspective in a very structured life
or to run the gauntlet will get you into strife

you can watch it brighten up your day
the suns solstice to show you the way
or count the stars that darkness brings
pondering within your lifelong dreams

contemplation should be barred
fools rush in but are seldom scarred
seizing the moment in a special way
painting a memory every second every day

waste it not on squabble an rife
history remembers only the famous life
entertaining everything we may endure
the potion of time the ultimate cure

memories of life will always remain
the beauty of time relinquishes pain
allows us to move in the right direction
with eyes wide open an unclouded perception

Letters.....Tricia p3

I've just discovered letters from the past
Dating back to '56
Words of joy that wouldn't last
In a country that had nix
Try you did again an again
To make your life complete
Paupers all around you
In your life you felt defeat
You seemed happy at the start
An proud of who an where
But time has its own plan
To eliminate the care
You strived for your children
To give the best that you could
But the pleasures you once knew
Were simply overlooked
A man who loved his job
An is people even more
His government did acknowlege
His government did adore
Left sitting on a shelf
In the shadows of his beliefs
Four kids in tow
In a country of little relief
Years an years went by
An the letters that you wrote
Revealed an existance
That had your spirit broke
Time it was to come back
To a place that you knew
To heal what you could
In the clouds of your blue
I learnt alot from those words
Of a woman who did care
Of everything around you
An your world of despair
Of how you thought about your kids
An cherished what you knew
Their future in your heart
An the best you could do.....

IF ONLY ............Adjhe's challenge

IF ONLY i could leave
This modern world behind
I'd find myself perched
Upon a mountain kind
Where rivers are clear
An there is peace of mind
A log fired cabin
An a vision thats not blind
Where nature is abundant
An the air fresh an new
Everyday an adventure
For survival you must do
I'd share it with a woman
Whose feelings rich an rare
To walk those trails beside me
Exploring what we care
The essence would be pure
As natural as can be
A union of two souls
Wild an free......

IF ONLY i'd stop nodding off
an having this bloody dream.........

bridging the gap

i'm going to build a bridge
a bridge to your heart
there is only one place
that i need to start
this is the single
most important part
honest foundations
they are an art
next i'll build piers of life
they will be strong an high
to keep troubled waters
from you an strife
the mud will be mixed
with the sweat of my sole
the bricks laid
love the toll
i'll join it all together
with help from my friends
expansion a quality
that has no ends
then i'll paint it
with a humourous sigh
to engage your smile
an enthuse your wry
around now i should be knocking
upon your door
with a bunch of flowers
from the garden floor
a yes would be grand
in the scheme of things
but with a bridge of love
i'll see what it brings...

i've forgotten

Thirty years investment
Of love fun an pain
The rewards undeniable
The joy simply plain
A lifetime together
Nurturing what we had
The difference in you i saw
Was it now going bad
You seemed to be distant
Recognition wouldn't last
No glint in your eye
When nostalging the past
You looked as if you were searching
Forever ...all the time
Lost within your world
Your memory could not define
Words you would mutter
To help you find your way
As i watched on in sadness
My trying would go astray
I searched for a place for you
Where you could be found
'Twas the hardest thing for me to do
For you my dear love were always around
Everytime i used to visit
You never knew who i really was
Your new friendship with a fellow
Tore the roots of my heart ...just because
Our life had been a joyous one
Many years we did share
So when the past did die at last
It would never stop me to care
Back i came again an again
To see if something new
Had changed with in your vision
Of what i was to you
But alas you had lost
Everything you had
History was a second to you
Forever asking ...that was sad
I walked away that very day
Never to know you again
With it i took my memories
An wrapped them in my pain
Buried them deep for me to keep
Recalling them again an again...

A tale of two

While exploring a rocky outcrop
Of a place ever so dear
I stumbled upon some artifacts
From far an so near

Wedged between sand an shell
Weathered timber oh so fine
Perusing inquisitively i spied
Square nail holes depicting time

My thoughts beckoned of the past
Large ships an wild seas
How many foreign hands had touched
'Fore the ocean it did seize

What shore did bore this timber
What type of tree was it
Who shaped an nailed it into place
Where on this ship it fit

Ahh so many questions
Floating in my mind
Gathering all the thoughts i had
Until my next find

Two rock pools an thirty paces
Not far from my last
While spying on tiny blue fish
My eyes they did cast

Upon a tool of ancient times
Unbeknown to me right then
A rock of perfect proportions
From a history of when

The local tribes they did live
On oysters an the sea
Turtles that did beach themselves
Their eggs they did free

A tool of two minds
One way was a knife
A perfect edge for cutting
To get them out of strife

The other was like a hammer
To chip away the shell
Whichever way you held it
The thumb did perfectly dwell

Interesting it is to note
The wonder of this find
Within minutes of each other
Memories of two kind
