ME

Me
I wish I knew who I am
I thought I knew but have no clue
I look into a mirror, and what is it
I see?
A reflection of me!!

Not as others see me,
or so I have been told
for like looking through a
glass darkly, it distorts
not just me, but everything
that's seen
from a different point of view

Until you look upon your face
as others see you true
you'll never really know
the person that is you

No one else can tell you
what they really see
for when I look into
a mirror I see a different me

Tis the same with deeper meanings
so because I am not sure
I will leave what I really
look like at G-d's holy door

For he truly knows me
the good and the bad
whether I am happy
or whether I am sad

He looks upon my features
as the other people do
but he also looks much deeper
and sees inside my soul
he looks beyond the superficial
and can work miracles I know

So I shall leave my face and
heart within his tender hands
and know that everything is
done within a grander plan

that transcends the superficial
this visage others see
I will trust in his love and
guidance for he knows the real me!

Waiting.......

I joined this site to meet a man
who I could love and he could
love me

Unfortunately I've yet to
meet a serious guy
who I could cherish
and revere and we could
share our lives together
good and bad, to lift each other up...…

Where is this illusive guy?
My standards are quiet high I know;
Though not an Adonis do I crave
just someone, loving, caring too

Because that's what I will do
There must be someone out there
But when I do not know
But patience is a virtue
so, I'll try to hold on tight
and hope that soon I'll meet
The guy that's Mr. Right!!

Behind the Mask

Why don’t people look beneath the skin?
Why don’t they look inside to see the soul within?
Why must the persons appearance be the only thing they see?
Why don’t they look beneath the skin to see the real me?

Next time you look at someone, see the beauty that’s within;
See that scars are not a sin, nor mentally disfiguring.
It’s what lies inside that matters so let this be your task:

Reject the superficial and look beyond the mask.
You see I have a heart like you that would beat at your caress;
That would thrive on understanding and a little happiness.

My soul is like a bud that with love and tenderness
Would open like a flower.
Someone with aspirations, someone with dreams so rare;
Someone who’s soul’s in torment, needing kindness and some care.
You would see a person who is always really there;

Who laughs and cries and often sighs for love and understanding.
So please look deeper than you have; take a moment just to gaze.

For you would see a person who would love you all their days,
Because you took a moment to look beneath the skin
And see the real person… the person that’s within.

Starlight

I sit up and yet look down,
I watch with care for
those that wear
sadness like a mantle
draped around
their shoulders.

Watching whilst the
teardrops fall,
unable to caress or
hold them tight
I watch over them
in the stillness
of the night.

I hold each sorrow
to my breast,
yet when the first
dawn’s rays appear
its then I slowly disappear.

I hold their sorrow deep in side
as I hide in the sunlight
yet once again the dark descends
and I am there for my dear friends.

So never fear, be sad or blue
this shining star will watch over you,
I'll hold your heart so tenderly
because you mean the world to me.

Though nebula's may come and go
this little star speaks true
I love you then, I love you now
until my fire is vanquished
I will hold your troubled soul
help you heal, and watch you grow,
until another dawn arrives
and I will go, but not too far
so when you wish upon this star
your heartache and sorrow will depart
and once more you'll have a happy heart

Introspective

Sitting quietly contemplating my life
at the lows and highs
the ups and downs
the sighs, the sorrows and heartache

the laughter of children, innocent,
not knowing that the ashes of despair
will be there one day for them, like me

Not knowing what the future holds
yet knowing a hurt so deep it won't
disperse

Ashes of dreams turned sour
into nightmares;
yet awake am I
no dream is this

Nor does time assuage the pain
yet move on is what I'm told
so yes, I WILL be bold and
get over heartache's knife
even though it costs my life

For the life I've known is dead
though buried not

A new person then am I
though old as time can be
each memory held dear
yet in a box I'll seal
and won't reveal
how dead these living eyes
now are

I'll laugh, for that is expected
I'll nod, though still rejected
within my tattered soul
for he IS my whole

I will do as I am told
although occasionally
the old me you may see

Just a shadow then am I
a reflection of what was;
distorted as a broken mirror

Yet the Phoenix then am I
gazing back at you
never more then
to be blue
but broken hearted still
it was his will

from the Ashes of despair
you WILL see me there

Lost Love

To love is but a dream
reality must pass;
Result happiness
until the bubble bursts
reality returns;
what's left is sadness!
