Earth, Wind and Water

A walk on the beach
The breeze on your face
Footprints in the sand
That leave not a trace
As the waves they roll in
Rhythmically lapping the shore
The power of the ocean
Hear it's mighty roar.

Yet calm is all around
Find your own inner peace
Earth, wind and water
Combine to release
Negative thoughts
Washed away by the tide
Balance and harmony
Feel centered inside.

Hand in hand with the elements
Dancing water at your feet
The ocean stretching before you
A horizon never to meet
A walk on the beach
A stroll on the sand
Just you and nature-
Together you stand

Let Go and Let God..

Though tired, weary, hateful days
Will always come and go;
There is one thing we trust in-
There is one thing we know....

A better time is coming!

Even though the work is hard,
And praise from fellows few;
There is one thing we can remember,
One thing we can do...
Give thanks to God for health and job.

So push on friends and do your best
And so give praise to God;
For thankful children shall be blest
With Peace, and not the rod.

Give thanks to God!
After all, counting your blessings
IS more fun than crying about what you don't have!

Who Looks Back In The Mirror?

When you get what you want in the struggle for self
And the world makes you king for a day;
Then go to the mirror and look at yourself
And see what that man has to say.

For it isn't a man's father, mother, or wife,
Whose judgment upon him must pass;
The fellow whose verdict counts most in his life,
Is the man staring back from the glass.

He's the fellow to please, never mind the rest,
And he's with you clear up to the end;
And you've passed your most dangerous, difficult test,
If the man in the glass is your friend.

You can fool the whole world down the pathway of years,
And get pats on the back as you pass;
But your first reward will be heartache and tears,
If you've cheated the man in the glass.

About this poem:
I'm a broad advocate of "who gives a rip what they think of me?" Why? Because honestly, bravado can be a thin veil and it doesn't take much to peek under the surface and find layers of someone seeking attention for whatever reason. It's about accessing ourselves honestly, not with obnoxious behavior because one thinks it can bring them all the things they hope for in life. Do life with confidence, look at it maturely and leave your ego at the door. Go after what you want in life, but do it with dignity. :)

Are You Happy?

Are you happy?
How can you tell?
Does life just flow?
Is everything just swell?

No head full of worries
No heart full of pain
No anguish or sorrow
No frustrated brain
No feathers to ruffle
No temper to flare
But a feeling of lightness
Like gliding on air

...And a pride in your being
The you that you are
Embrace it and cherish it
Now you're the happiness star.

Unnamed Love

This morning,
Beneath the shingles
Of the roof
Watched by a coffee stain
Spilled on the table cloth,
And burnt toast
And amny promises,
In spite of
Many other reasons
Too numerous to mention

While the fried eggs look on morosely,
You said you loved me.
Tonight
I shall fly to Rome
To have you declared
A bona fide
Miracle.

A Person With An Inferiority Complex

Your pendulum swinging
Extreme to the next
"Don't you think I'm awesome, and superior and intelligent and witty?"
Is what you try to say
"Don't you just love having me around?"
Behind closed doors you drink
And lose to the demons of sorrow

If you stuck your head in a bottle
Maybe the alcohol could speak louder
Than the gushing, arse kissing cries you utter
But in front of the crew
Well in front of others you think you're so great
Don't you know that you've been caught?
The sweetness and light act fools no one, least of all your boss
You're gonna have to answer for your sins
Shame you're so mediocre at best.

"I'm sorry, who are you again?"
"Oh, that's right, you're that simp nobody- least that's what I make You think I think".
"And you, lucky you, have been so graced with my presence".
"Such a great thing I am really, and you would be grateful to listen
To all my "stories" of grandeur".
"The many accomplishments I have in my head"
"I have dreamt my way around the world you know"
"I use a pen, I don't erase!"

"I have a voracious and extensive vocabulary"
"You should be like me"
"You should be like me"
"You should think like me"
"If you can't handle me, drop dead".
"I treat people like dirt that I can't agree with, so kiss my arse"
"By now, can't you see I'm lying?"
"Little do I know that my "attitude" will be my downfall, but I don't Care as long as I get to hurt you".
"Do me a favor and knock me off of this pedestal before I go insane".

About this poem:
Dealing with a person who has an inferiority complex. Not an easy thing as they tend to be so negative that they suck the sun right out of the sky.Being acquainted with such a person who is an employee (He's going to be looking for another job because of his attitude and behavior towards the other wranglers. I hate to do it, but I have to think of their well-being first). The "stories" he tells are unreal. Putting into words their attitude towards life and how they treat others. It's not a good thing.

Perfect Accident

I caught the letter that you sent
Took another run to get it
It was a strange and perfect accident
Wish it was the first one and the last

Wish it was for me
Then to someone, not for me
Wish it was for me, tonight

I guess we were making it look right
Torn between the laughter and a fight
I trusted you to glide.. along...
Thought you'd swing back this way

I caught the letter that you sent
It was a strange and perfect accident.

Push

Love and Hate.. Twist of Fate.. 18 years ingratiate
Hey,hey,hey.. It's time to play.. Come outside or come what may

Held away.. Can we say...Don't look back on yesterday

I'm glad it's happening to you
There's nothing better you can do

Cannot stay..Must pray...The world we know is not the way
hey, hey, hey..It's time to say..Pushed aside or pushed away

Held away.. The darker days.. Don't look back on yesterday
Shades of gray..Move aside..Or move away today

Sing a song..Of what went wrong..Now you're here and then you're gone
Brand new day..Is on the way...Fly away today.

Speak To Me

Meet me in the in-between
With frozen lips and gasoline
The promise of the day is what you bring
It's the strangest thing

Burning brides and idle hands
Can't keep us from the things we planned
The promise of a song is on the air
What it's like to never care

Fall into the song and dance
Of holding out for happenstance
But I don't wanna take that chance
So come and speak to me
Sweet surrender on the line
Now it's time to say "I'm fine"
We'll see each other one more time
C'mon and speak to me

Throwin' stones and palindromes
Will keep us from the things we own
The promise of a life is what we share
And will you ever care?

Won't you come and stand with me
The one above will set you free
The promise of the day you'll see
So come and speak to me.

Disappear

Remember the days of growing old?
We'd run together in the cold
Waiting for the streetlights to stop thinking
Innocence, bicycle tricks
The days seemed long without a fix
And the difference of two years was slowly shrinking

Forgotten now, and then not made
I fell between the cracks you laid
Wishing I could be as good as you
The things we used to share were gone
And turned to old plays far too long
Knowing that the time with you was through

Here you are.. pass or play
The time has come for me to say, I took your name for mine today
There you are.. one more year
Someday you will return and if you don't.. we'll disappear

Peace for now I think I'll stay
And wander back from yesterday
Forever there I can't say we will know
So come on down and we will play
We'll find a place to go today
And not a place we'll find more perfect so

Secrets Of The Day

I hear from some that life has no reason
Telling their lies like they want me to believe
There's no room here for pleasing
And no time to explain what I mean

Burning bright all through the night now
For today I will lead the way
Burning bright it's time to find out
The secrets of the day

I see the days with detection
Of a time that has fallen for me
With the love of perfection
Until then I am humbly down on my knees

I hear that life has a reason
And today I just wanna believe.

Instinct

What is it makes your old yard dog
Bay all night at the moon,
In chorus with the wild coyote's
Archaic clannish tune?

By daylight he's content enough
To lay around and nap,
Domesticated by his look
A ward of table scrap.

But nightfall wakens something deep
Where mind and soul convene.
Some age-old longing locked awat
Embedded in his genes.

The same thing makes a fella
Who is both steadfast and sane,
Jerk down a rope and join the chase
With slack pitched in his rein.

His slight regard for consequence
Attests to what's inside.
A banner unfurled honestly,
Impossible to hide.

Some know it on the ocean's waves.
Some dig it out of mines.
It finds us on the city streets
Or high up in the pines.

It's played out in the stadiums
For all the multitude,
Or realized in the cedar breaks
In perfect solitude.

That we fool others and ourselves
It matters not at all.
We're ruled by what's inside us
When we hear the coyote call.
