SEARCHING

I know you're out there somewhere
I know someday we'll meet;
Maybe down a country lane
or a busy city street.

I'm not looking for a servant
I can take care of myself.
I'm not looking for a Barbie doll
to set up on a shelf.

I need someone to walk beside me
and tell me of her dreams.
Someone who's tired of all the games
and all the foolish schemes.

Reflects how I feel about the search to find that "Special Someone" who is tired of playing games and seeks a love that is sharing/caring/true/tender and above all FOREVER.

Merry Christmas everyone

I pray your day will be happy
I pray that no one is alone.
I pray you'll be with friends and family
or at least talk with them on the phone.

I pray your new year will be brighter.
I pray true love comes your way.
I pray bad memories are forgotten
and God walks with you everyday.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE

Walls

Sometimes lifes' journey
takes some mighty sharp turns.
And things are not always
as they seem, you learn.

Sometimes you wonder how
you can go on another day.
Sometimes it's only you
standing in your own way.

Sometimes you're alone
and you're so empty within.
Sometimes it's because
you won't let anyone in.

Then out of the blue
like a bright ray of light.
There comes a kindred spirit
to make everything right.

Down crash the walls
you've built high and strong.
Plink, plink, falls the fortress
as you sing a new song.

SOMETIMES IT HAPPENS

When you meet that ONE
who thinks like you
there's really not much
you can say or do.

Just hold on tight
and brace for the ride.
Try to still those butterflies
spinning around inside.

Five hours on line;
two more on the phone.
And suddenly you feel
like you're not alone.

Wishing & Hoping

I know you're out there somewhere.
I pray someday we'll meet.
Maybe down some country lane
or a busy city street.

I'm not looking for a servant.
I can take care of myself.
I'm not looking for a Barbie doll;
to place upon a shelf.

I don't need someone to lead me
or to follow far behind.
I need someone to walk beside me
and help me toe the line.

God says a mate is a blessing.
That it's better to marry than burn.
I know I'll find you someday.
Then my heart will cease to yearn.

For the Zookeeper

I've met the Zoo keeper
and I'm here to say
She's a wonderful person
in all possible ways.

Part wizzard, part angel
and real quick to know,
if you're being real
or letting B.S. flow.

Very quickly I found out
I'm not in my "right" mind.
Deeper conversations
I'd be hard pressed to find.

But she found a crack
in these walls I've built high.
Plink, plink, chips are falling
letting life light inside.

ON THE STREET

On the street and out of luck
alone, afraid and lost.
Wondering where to spend the night
and what will be the cost.

A product of a broken home
where love was never found.
Where curses instead of kisses
were always spread around.

Never told about Jesus.
No one could spare the time.
Never learned to trust Him.
Instead she turned to crime.

Is there a future? She doesn't know,
just living day to day.
Someone needs to find her.
Show her a better way.

Will you walk on by her,
like she is made of glass?
Will you turn your face away,
until you're safely past?

Is there any hope for her?
Is she too far gone?
Only God will answer that question;
from the great white judgment throne.

4 days before Christmas

It's four days before Christmas
and all through the land
singles are surfing
as fast as they can.

Being alone on Christmas
is not a good thing.
Because when you're lonely
Christmas bells just don't ring.

So I wish everyone
a Christmas of cheer,
peace, hope and love
and a Happy New Year.

THIS DAY

Help me, Lord, to use this day
to give rest to the weary, help someone on their way.

Give me strength to be patient, when I'm at my wits end
and courage to reach out, when someone needs a friend.

Grant me wisdom to chose rightly, when I've choices to make.
the right words to give hope and to help ease heartache.

Write on my heart, the words You sent from above;
they will know we are Christians, by the way that we love.

DREAMING

Would you share my tent on a moonlit night
with the stars above shining so bright;

welcome the morning with a warm embrace
as the rising sun slowly lights your face;

listen to the music of a nearby stream
just we two and nature, what a wonderful dream.

TAPS

The bugle sounds its final call
the echoes die away;
darkness now has fallen
although it is mid-day.

The flag is being folded
to be given to your wife.
Your children stand bewildered
at this strange twist in life.

Another hero has fallen
and now he lies at rest.
The world's a darker place now
for he was one of the best.

He raised his children to love the Lord
and honor his country and flag.
He served with pride and honor,
they sent him home in a bag.

ODE TO OUR ARMED FORCES

We are free because you are

ARMY...

NAVY...

AIR FORCE...

MARINES....

You fight, bleed, die...

For FREEDOM...

your BATTLE CRY.

We rest tonight for we are safe...

because of the difference that you make...

We sleep in peace without a care...

because you are on duty everywhere.
