I mean it does my bloody head in! Why cant people hold their knife and for properly here in Austria (Southern Germany, Hungary etc...) I love living here and its my only pet peeve!!

Don't tell me you expect everybody to do that ridiculous British thing where food is squashed onto the back of the fork?

I think DA this 's global...u most have to vicit Restaurants in PA...they forgot the ethic..

Umm how can I describe it! .... Imagine holding your knife and fork sort of thumbs up With the fork facing down then slicing opposite to mmmmm everyone else then eating like your scraping up the left over peas on the plate!!! Does that make sense ?

What's all that about, huh?
May be you've got used to the American (or Zig-Zag) method of cutting food? The Continental (or European) method consists of not switching hands, and using the left hand for all fork-related activities.

Nah, I'm British, but I was raised continental.
