The Note

The letter lay alone
In a mailbox red with rust
Its loneliness apparent
By the layers of forgotten dust
The envelope tinged yellow
As time wished to show its age
The corners bent and crinkled
As if it tried to escape the cage

But love is not your kingdom
When the castle has no moat
And passion will never sail
When rejection sank the boat
So once again his eyes did cast
Upon the bleak and yellowed note
That lay within the mailbox
Seeming to bear a cruel wry gloat

It bore no stamp or postmark
That sense of barren to the mind
Yet it smelt so slightly scented
The sense of an emotional bind
He clasped it tightly to his chest
In pleading hope of a stirring rush
But love will still lie unrequited
When devotion is a one way crush

Across The Miles

Reaching beyond the miles
In search of something more than smiles
To find a connection
More than words can express
Something unwritten
Far from a feeling, a knowing

Taking an online spark into reality
Is what we all seek
But geography builds a barrier
We each choose not to break
So left in our corner we weep
For a love we desperately desire

Too weak in fear of pain
Our hearts are left in the mire
Of our own creation

Patient

Frustration fills my soul,
As I search for something whole,
Something missing, something true,
Something that I only find in you.

But you are far away,
Living your life day by day,
And though I try to go on,
My heart can't help but feel forlorn.

My soul is out there living,
But it's not the same without you giving,
Your love, your touch, your tender care,
To help me through life's struggles and despair.

I long to feel your presence near,
To know that you are always here,
But instead I'm left with emptiness,
A feeling that I cannot suppress.

So I'll continue to search and seek,
For the love that I so desperately seek,
Hoping one day you'll be by my side,
And we can face the world, side by side.

dream

I had a dream about you!
And the Moon felt jealous of you and she decided to leave because she didn't feel full, now she was half.

I had a dream about you!
And the words she said to you were of love and passion, I did not feel any shame in expressing to you my desire to consume myself in your skin.

I had a dream about you!
And I was able to love you like no man or gentleman could ever love you.

I had a dream about you!
And I drew with my firm and anxious hands the most indecipherable figures on your skin.

And I was a poet!
And I knew your verses, I savored your lines and I loved the letters that make up your name.

I had a dream about you!
I hugged you in caresses and made you mine while I whispered in your ear all those forbidden words for a true poet.

A poet is not vulgar on paper, a true poet makes poetry that exalts women eternal, and if he has to make it vulgar he will do it exclusively under the sheets, stripped of modesty and rooted skin to skin.

In my dream I kissed every inch of your fine canvas
(Wrinkles and stretch marks you say? I rather call them indelible marks of your life well lived) and you didn't stop me, on the contrary you covered my body with yours and we made love until we went crazy.

I had a dream about you!
And you were my company forever and there were no moons or suns that could separate us.

Today I left my house thinking about such a wonderful dream and I ran into you
We looked at each other in silence and I jumped for joy when you approached me and with a sweet voice I heard you say:
Last night, last night and without knowing you
I dreamed of you..."

distance

What is the distance? The word hurts, it pierces the soul painfully, the heart breaks so much! Not to be in another country, in another place, is a paradox! You can be thousands of miles away, but not far away, and sometimes you sleep in the same bed and you are far away! This distance, to be accompanied and to be alone, between many people and loneliness, to have a family, to be together and to be invisible! Another piece of furniture. Distance, unfortunately, is being close to the people you live with and no one seeing you, and walking without anyone noticing! That the night comes and no one accepts you, and more than that, they do not take you into consideration, just to be exploited. They remember only for their own sake, when they need you, and they deny you when their interests end. I think this is the distance
this is sick

My grandmother advised me

It takes great courage to love women who are marked by the past, with a strong character, but with a kind heart. To heal their wounds, you need a lot of love, and above all you need to be smart, because they are so mature, so experienced that they no longer believe in what you say, but in what you are ready to do for them.

Playing the Loners Game

I'm alone and I guess that's okay,
She said she didn't want me anymore,
So, I moved away,
My biggest mistake,--
Playing the loners game

A possible dream becomes a nightmare,
And as that nightmare becomes a fact,
And as the clouds clear from last nights storm in your mind,
You place down the bottle- to watch another sunrise,
Just to damn yourself; no way to justify, you can't go back

You go to bed, lay there,
You can't sleep,
You haven't ate nothing for days, you don't care,
Yet, you know this isn't me,--
Endlessly wondering what to do now?
Which way to present yourself how?
How to wear a smile behind this frown?--

I'm on my own now and I guess that's okay,
She said she doesn't love me anymore,
So, I'm moving farther and farther away,
Yet, knowing I'm not the only fool to blame--
Playing the Loners Game

About this poem:
The poem/song I wrote is complicated, yet; understandable. I grew up in the Army traveling from one state to the next, so by the time I hit my teenage years I came to realize that I was/am a loner! I really never belonged or fit in anywhere. The girls liked me and the boys wanted to fight me!! lol Til one day in December of 1988, I met this girl, she was 16 and I was 18; and from that point on life gave purpose! The word loner no longer existed. Unfortunatly, over the span of 30 years being together our love lost it's luster. A little over a year ago she told me she no longer loved, nor; wanted me anymore and that she's felt that way for a long time. When I talked of future travels out of state and perhaps living there for awhile, her thought of travels are to the mailbox! lol

SMILE....Once Again.....

Clouds drop away, expose sparkling day
At times in life, for happy times we pay
Was it sudden, or dawning came slow
Emotions left, leaving no inner glow

Clouds can come fast, cover what's been
Aware what happened, what you'd seen
Denial..... what your eyes so briefly saw
Your ears heard clearly, closing doors

Many times in life, we'll have to admit
With no safe period, before we commit
Allowing heart-head, to join together
Balance for life, free from tethers

Physical and mental ties, can restrain
Hidden tears, suddenly fall like rain
Experience can't save us, from pain
Taught time heals, then smile once again

Love in many forms, family-lover-friend
As does hate, no helping hand you lend
Allowing to cross lines, no guarantee
Take steps slowly, timing the key

With love comes passion, not caution
Never served in equal portions
We cannot select, if in love we fall
Fate takes control, without any rule....

Mismatches, will constantly occur
Causing problems, for him or her
We have to smile, encountering pain
If experience, is our only gain......

the love of my life

When I tell you I love you, I don’t say it out of habit. I say it to remind you that you’re the best thing that ever happened to me.

I love you for all that you are, all that you have been and all that you’re yet to be.

And suddenly, all the love songs were about you.

I love you more than I could ever really say.

I fancy the way your laugh can light up my day.

I wish you could see yourself through my eyes, then maybe you’d understand why I fancy you.

I fancy you and all of the wonderful things you’ve brought into my life.

Fancying you is one of my favorite things to do.

The day I met you, I found the piece of me I didn’t know was missing. I fancy you, this relationship and the better part of me you brought out.

I wish I could turn back the clock. I’d find you sooner and love you longer.

I didn’t know it was possible to love everything about someone until I met you.

Have I mentioned how lucky I am to love you?

I’m so grateful I get to love you.

Falling in love with you was the easiest thing I’ve done in my life.

When you fall in love with someone’s personality, everything about them becomes beautiful.

Respect, Love, care, kind, Honesty, Faithfulness

I loved you first: but afterwards your love
Outsoaring mine, sang such a loftier song
As drowned the friendly cooings of my dove.
Which owes the other most? my love was long,
And yours one moment seemed to wax more strong;
I loved and guessed at you, you construed me
And loved me for what might or might not be –
Nay, weights and measures do us both a wrong.
For verily love knows not ‘mine’ or ‘thine;’
With separate ‘I’ and ‘thou’ free love has done,
For one is both and both are one in love:
Rich love knows nought of ‘thine that is not mine;’
Both have the strength and both the length thereof,
Both of us, of the love which makes us one.
