RE: Is it true The Big Bang Theory was proven ?

The Big Bang theory is the prevailing cosmological model for the early development of the universe.

The key idea is that the universe is expanding. Consequently, the universe was denser and hotter in the past. In particular, the Big Bang model suggests that at some moment all matter in the universe was contained in a single point, which is considered the beginning of the universe. Modern measurements place this moment at approximately 13.82 billion years ago, which is thus considered the age of the universe. After the initial expansion, the universe cooled sufficiently to allow the formation of subatomic particles, including protons, neutrons, and electrons.

Though simple atomic nuclei formed within the first three minutes after the Big Bang, thousands of years passed before the first electrically neutral atoms formed. The majority of atoms that were produced by the Big Bang are hydrogen, along with helium and traces of lithium.

Giant clouds of these primordial elements later coalesced through gravity to form stars and galaxies, and the heavier elements were synthesized either within stars or during supernovae.

RE: Are You Happy Being A Human?

careful they guild a lot of those male horses...... you have to be a winning thoroughbred and of course you are.

RE: Would you do it?

as someone who has carried on with the work my grandmother and mother doe in ancestry and tracing the family history. It creates a difficult but not impossible means of keeping track of family.

In my own family, there are a lot of adopted children the changing of names helps to unite families sometimes more than divide.

Lately my nephew has adopted his cousin's child - the mother who died of cancer and left the 5 year old, 15 year old and 17 year old. The 2 older boys lived with my sister and kept the father's name - the youngest had a different father and he needed a home and the oldest boy was too young unable to provide for them. The youngest now 10 has 4 brothers (his two originals) and 4 sisters, and belongs to a loving family. Has he forgotten his original family, or his love of his mother? No.

Does it matter what his surname is? dunno

RE: What do you hate about your job the most?

Steve Jobs said:

“The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.”

and I would add - look for another job while you still keep working (and don't get caught). I would never leave one job without lining up and getting another - even if it is a promotion in another area of the company.

You cannot change your work circumstances but you can change yourself.

I realized that if I wanted to take control of my job, I had to get some better set of skills and talents - so I went back to school at night and worked during the day. It was a sacrafice but worth it. Maybe it means taking art lessons, or other types of classes not necessarily academic school - I don't know your job or your environment.

RE: Would you do it?

excerpt from Dailynews;

Qatar, the richest nation on earth, is also the fattest with half of all adults obese and 17 per cent of the population suffering from diabetes.
By comparison America, which is often assumed to be the fattest, looks positively slim with a third of adults obese and eight per cent diabetic.
Out of a population of 1.7million, just 250,000 are native Qataris, who, in the space of just two generations have switched from a tribal existence to living in air conditioned villas being waited on by armies of servants.

They also have the highest divorce rate now rising to 40% -

Perhaps Ali what you are attributing to western culture or the decline of western culture is actually the rise of over abundance and afluence

RE: What do you hate about your job the most?

Right now I have a job in which my boss is chaotic, micro-managing and procrastinates on the tasks only she can do. I like her as a person, but as a leader.... she leaves much to be desired.

I am one of those detailed-oriented, organizational processes and systems freaks, which works well for my job and tasks. She on the other hand, is all over the place, have more than 200 emails and she has no filter system in place, no file folders. It drives me crazy because I want to "organize" her and manage her. I want her to be the good leader and listen and think before she fires off rapid commands. It worked well for her in her previous job as a news reporter - it does not work well in the work environment we are in. In my opinion a good boss hires the staff and gives them the tools to do the job and the vision or direction or mission and then let's them do it.

ok maybe rant over. mumbling grin maybe not!

RE: What do you hate about your job the most?

comfort Been there and felt that.

kahawai
1. (noun) kahawai, Arripis trutta - an edible greenish-blue to silvery-white schooling coastal fish with dark markings and spots. Elongated body with a high front dorsal fin.
E hoa, e mohio ana koe ki te whakatauki mo tena, 'He wahine kei uta, he kahawai kei te wai' (TW 30/12/1876:495). / Friend, you know the saying about that, 'A woman on land, a kahawai in the sea' .

RE: The Bar is Open

does anyone know how to have a fish fry?

RE: The Bar is Open

The kahawai is widespread throughout New Zealand and will be found from estuaries to the outer islands.

This sleek fish has an average size between 40-50cm long, and an average wiehgt of 1 to 2kg. Appropriate tackle is 6-10kg mono or braid is even better as the bites are small. As their tremendous fighting ability has earned them a reputation as a top light tackle game fish, especially on salt-water fly (SWF). They can be found year round and will be enticed by plenty of berley.

RE: The Bar is Open

The word kahawa has an Arabic etymology, and means coffee in Swahili.

obviously spelling is IMPORTANT in the google search.
