I don't see the leap to gun violence? Yes USA is up there - so is Canada, Switzerland etc, etc. - we humans by nature are violent creatures - we also have the capacity to form great civilizations - we are social creatures too - surely we can solve one aspect of our nature with the other.
On a serious note - Gun lobbyist are very powerful - they have great influence - Televised media have a great deal of influence too, and television personalities can be strong - it all depends on the advertisers -
I don't see any ads for guns on tv - but I do see ads for walmarts which does a brisk gun trade.
Somehow I suspect Piers will leave when Nancy Grace goes....
There is not much chance in a club to have your character or other qualities seen - it is a very loud and superficial world. There is not really an opportunity to get noticed unless you are a male model - or a good dancer -
Maybe the idea is to find women in your age range, and just observe for a while - see what they are looking at or interested in -
My boss at work met her hubby at a club in Miami - married 20 years, now, and very happy.
a little off topic too - so my friend who is a terrible gambler, bets on anything - loves the horses - was trying to stay away from the race track until some time last week. He awoke early on morning, too early, for no reason - looked at his clock and it said 5:55 am. He turns back to sleep ends up waking up late, he is so late for work. Jumps out of bed - rushes around - takes the elevator to his car in parking garage - the doors on the elevator stop on the way down on the 5th floor and opens to apartment 55 a. He gets to his car and it has a flat so he calls for a taxi. The number for the cab is 555-5555 - this can't be a coincidence so he decides to head to Calder Race Track. He lays a few bets in the first couple of races. No big wins just a few. Waits for the 5th race, lays all his earnings on horse number 5....
thanks TTom - somehow I am not too worried - cause even if chicken little is crying the sky is falling, the sky is falling. I know it ain't. The sun will come up tomorrow, bet your bottom dollar.... tra la tra la la
Maybe a better question would be how to help all the men returning from long tours in war zones aclimate to civilized living again.
There is much more need for loving sons, brothers and fathers, faithful husbands, attentive lovers, pleasant neighbors, responsible work colleagues, safe drivers, calm communities - I much prefer that manly competition over the gun toting crazies.
I expected that to be your delusional story and you are sticking to it. farming methods have improved greatly that they don't need to resort to a bullet to plant their crops and save their farm implements.
varmints don't need to be trapped or hunted or shot -
I understand how many geese, ducks and other birds have collided with aircraft - they are a lot of accidents on runways.
I am a great believer that when we encroach on the wilderness there are more humane and reasonable ways that we can get along without endangering animals -
I have also been told stories from farmers in canada that have had close calls with stupid hunters that mistake humans, and tractors for deer.....
I was banned once from a thread and it was just a mean thing and hurt my feelings.
Forum rule number 1 - diversity in the forum creates a great place to share opinions with members worldwide.... and treat others the way you would like to be treated.
