I was trying to be funny..... (I know, I know it is an odd sense of humor).....
People are pretty similar all over the world - if there is a resource and we think it is scarce we want it, horde it, fight for it, and squander it - and it ends up in the hands of just a few - those powerful enough to take it and keep it from the rest of us - be it money, water, land, food....
and in the middle of that are people - the altruistic who try to share the resources to those not strong enough or smart enough - it is just the way of the world.
traveling will open your eyes and heart to the rest of humanity and the world - it is outside one's comfort zone, yet it makes one realize that we are more similar than different - loving where you live is good, however, fearing others and lacking respect for other ways of life can limit your thinking - (I am done now, with my moralizing.....)
All your snow birds are here in Florida right now - in addition we have our own native brands - for ages I have been looking at this white, bird with a long bill and stork like feet - thought it was an egret - turns out I found its photo in a bird book - it is a white Ibis. We also had a peacock looking for a mate - beautiful plumage ready to display - walking through my neighborhood.
I have a state park just a few blocks away - and within a short drive Everglades National Park - saw crickets mating - I'm still blushing
All the snowbirds have arrived in Miami, plus the nesting of the tropical local and exotic birds - and yet the roosters and chickens that escaped from the neighbors yard makes me laugh the most.
I just love traveling through the everglades and seeing the egrets drying their wings. The birds perch by the dozens on the same banyon like tree with wings spread.... it is a sight to behold.
My opinion is that we elevate str athletes into heros and they are not heros - they do not save the world - they have completed some physical exercise.
They do make the world a better place - they are like entertainers, part of the commercial world that sells television ads, or endorses a product, and take our mind off our lives when they compete.
So when people wake up to the fact that they are human and are after the money through any means necessary - don't come crying to me or others about how they disappointed you. they are just athletes not heros.
It is only a communication tool. You send mail to women in your local area, that match your profile and send a flower, then an email and try to meet someone - go a a date or even see if there is a get-together in your area - met real people and go from there.
So what would a better use of your time and energy look like?
It's not the fact that we are getting older - it is just the way of the new world of technology - we are moving in to a very mobile way to communicate - so the way date must also change - change is good, and change is bad.....
so funny - the election is over and now we have a President. - ok let it go.
Let's work at getting a better governor so that we can have an timely election and not be the embare*ssment of the nation - improve with the election, improve medical care, erradicate mortgage fraud and crime. Get some jobs back
RE: Do you think the recession was engineered?
and they say that knowledge is power......I was trying to be funny..... (I know, I know it is an odd sense of humor).....
