Do you know how is it like to be in the car, biting your nails? However, in my case I chose to post a blog instead grin

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this is the first ever blog on CS that forewarns you that no comments would be allowed but if you've come so far and read this much, then it ain't any fault of mine laugh

Happy weekend to all! hug teddybear bouquet

P.S My daughter has been driving me around for the past two weeks and I've had 19 cardiac arrests during that time uh oh )

Back on CS again after a failed relationship

This thought has been on my mind for months now and when I read what Calmheartseek on Kal's ' Weird ' blog wrote, I knew I have to put a blog up regarding this matter.

If I may, Calmheartseek, borrow your comment,

" Isn't it kinda sad how we read on here how some CS members find someone, even blog or post about it, then a little time goes by, and the relationship breaks up or they are back on CS once again."

What I was thinking, say, someone like me who talks nothing but my relationship with Art all the time on the blogs and forums, much to the horror of fellow Csers grin

You'd hear how, against your wish, how we met, visit each other, get to know each other more and finally one of us decides to join the other in her/his respective country.

We then decide to no longer be active on CS. Well-wishers and congratulations abound.

Now, I also wonder, would it be better if I just slowly sneak right back into the blogs/forums again without telling fellow CSers about my doomed relationship.

OR

Do you think it's better to put a whole blog up announcing my comeback after my failed relationship just to make sure no awkwardness or uncertainty ensued?

OR

Do you think it's nobody business anyhow! mumbling

P.S Art and I are not in Troubleland just in case some of you are wondering wink grin

A truly remarkable man.....

I had a short stint, about 2 months, looking after disabled kids and teenagers when I was 17. It was a voluntary job about 30 mins drive from my home. Transport and food provided. The facility was run by a local church that got its funding mostly from Sweden.

Some of those kids were lucky, they had families to go back home at the end of the day. Some were not that lucky......blues

There was a 9 year-old boy who was brought to the center with bloodied ankles. Apparently, his family had no one to look after him at home and decided to shackle him to the post outside the car porch so that he wouldn't soil the inside of their house...

A teenage mom who had an intelligence of a 5 year-old kid who had been impregnated by strangers over and over again.....she had the sweetest disposition, always smiling at waving at me when she sees me every morning....

Sadly, when I left that place after 2 months, I got too caught up in my own problems to think of them..

When I watched this clip, I can't help but feel in awe of this man. Admiration and respect quickly followed suit. Love his final statement..."There's always good in this world, more than the bad, always..."

Deaf grandma teaches deaf granddaughter sign language

My step-dad's adopted younger sister is deaf. She came to my mom's coffee shop to help out during Chinese New Year when we needed a lot of help to cope with the madness!

Her husband, who is deaf too, came along together with their teenage son who is of normal hearing. I initially communicated with her son of the things to do around so that he could pass on the information to his parents. When it got busy I had no time to tell the son anything and tried signing to the mom and dad myself!

I got so flustered that we all ended up giggling!!!

Here's a heartwarming video I'd love to share....smitten

Over the weekend....

Very busy over the weekend. I have always liked my mom-in-law's sisters, all 3 of them. I am particularly close to the youngest one. When my kids were very young, I'd bring them to her place very often and her teenage kids would dote on my kids.

She has 3 children. I attended all of her kids' wedding. I was very honoured to be asked to perform some simple Hindu rites for all her kids during their wedding. I'm deeply touched because even though my marriage to her favourite nephew has broken down, she and her family still treat me very good, always welcoming me to their house.

Here are some pics I'd like to share, of her son's wedding just yesterday.

My kids...patiently sat throughout the whole proceedings, occasionally making small talks to relatives from their dad's side.

Outside the wedding house. My mother-in-law drew a 'Kolam', a form of drawing that is drawn by using rice. It is a traditional custom among the Hindus to flank the entrance of the wedding house with 2 banana trees to symbolize that the life of the married couple should be evergreen and should lead an endless relationship and be showered with all the prosperity for generations to come.

Introducing my hometown to Art.

I also introduced my gaggles of girlfriends to Art. They were dying to meet him after hearing so many stories about him. There was only one problem though...........none of them except one, could utter a word of English and to make matter worse, Art couldn't converse in Mandarin, Cantonese, Fujianese or even the Malay language! doh grin

Outside of our favourite Chinese restaurant where my girlfriends and I always dined whenever I'm in town.

Take off, take off. Take off all your clothes.....

No-nope, not asking you to take all your clothes off now scold laugh

One of the ways to stay connected with my kids ( a 19 year-old daughter and a 17 going on 18 year-old son ) is to listen to what they listen... listen to music

Music provides me the platform to communicate with my kids. Through it, I'd get to know their likes and dislikes. Through it also, it opens up other topics that allows further conversations.

I stepped out of the shower this afternoon and heard this "........take off, take off, take off all your clothes...." stemming from my daughter's room. The music was hauntingly addictive and I didn't want it to end.....smitten

I then asked my daughter the singer and the title of the song.

Here it is! applause

Climb up the H
Of the Hollywood sign, yeah
In these stolen moments
The world is mine (do it, do it)
There’s nobody here
Just us together (shut up, shut up)
Keepin’ me hot
Like July forever

‘Cause we’re the masters of our own fate
We’re the captains of our own souls
There’s no way for us to come away
‘Cause boy we’re gold, boy we’re gold
And I was like…

Take off, take off
Take off all your clothes
Take off, take off
Take off all your clothes
Take off, take off
Take off all of your clothes
They say only the good die young
That just ain’t right
‘Cause we’re having too much fun
Too much fun tonight, yeah

And a lust for life, and a lust for life
And a lust for life, and a lust for life
Keeps us alive, keeps us alive
Keeps us alive, keeps us alive
And a lust for life, and a lust for life
And a lust for life, and a lust for life
Keeps us alive, keeps us alive
Keeps us alive, keeps us alive

Then, we dance on the H
Of the Hollywood sign, yeah
‘Til we run out of breath
Gotta dance ’til we die (duwop, duwop)
My boyfriend’s back
And he’s cooler than ever (shuwop, shuwop)
There’s no more night
Blue skies forever

In one of the comments of the video, someone made a connection of the lyrics of the songs to that of a suicide that happened in the 1930's. Out of curiousity, I Google-ed it and read more about the tragic case. As you'd have guessed, it created another chance for more tête-à-tête with my daughter! conversing

Oh by the way, this the tragic story that I Google-ed, very sad indeed...sad flower

May our lust for life never fades .....wine

Have a great week ahead everyone hug teddybear bouquet

Singapore

I worked in Singapore in the early 90's. Vibrant city but it has become a very expensive place to live in ( For the fourth year running, the Republic has been ranked the most expensive city for expatriates and business travellers, ahead of Hong Kong and Zurich, according to a bi-annual survey by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU)- published in March 21, 2017 )

Recently went back there for a couple of days. There's always one thing that I'd do whenever I'm at the 'Little Red Dot'.......devouring their yummy 'Hainanese Chicken Rice' ! smitten

Tian Tian has been voted as the best chicken rice hawker stall in Singapore by local foodies. Anthony Bourdain, an American celebrity chef, host of Travel Channel’s culinary, has reported that “Chicken rice is so fragrant and delicious that it can be eaten on its own”.

My recent Aussie trip

It's nice to be back in Malaysia after spending 2 weeks in Melbourne. Kinda miss my newborn nephew already......the main reason why I made the trip in the first place. He has a good mixture of Aussie and Chinese blood in him grin Methinks ( and everybody does too! ) he looks more like his Aussie dad than his Chinese mom, much to my sister's chagrin! laugh

Spent the weekend at my younger sister's in-laws' farm at Warragul, just over an hour's drive from Melbourne.
