Uhura had the first Bluetooth...

Star Trek came out in 1966.
Uhura was the communications officer aboard the USS Enterprise.
Her claim to fame is having the first Bluetooth.
It was massive by today's standards and it appeared to have it's own radiator!

You may also recall, that prior to Star-Trek there were no doors that opened automatically as you approached. We're still awaiting the beaming of people to distant locations and those medical hand held tricorders though. laugh
I think her claims to fame were being a black woman in a leading TV role and the first TV interracial kiss.

I suppose it's a positive thing that those have become mainstream and superseded by her tech kit. laugh
Jim, I wish the beaming invention would hurry up. I have a list of people I'd like to see transported !!

jac, in doing some research on the actress Nichelle Nichols who played Nyota Uhura, she claims she wanted to leave Star Trek (and return to musical theater) after the first season, but Martin Luther King Jr. convinced her to stay. That was a milestone for black women and she became a role model for Mae Carol Jemison, the first black female astronaut.
Lol....MLK had his own teleportation device...his guards sneaking woman past Kings wife.

conversing
Yeah, unlike DJT who did it in front of his wife and had his personal lawyer pay them off!
Awesome comparison, isn't it?
I'm waiting for the gadget that you walk up to and say "Apple Martini please" or "filet mignon"
Wonder what year the shoe phone was used in Get Smart. Now bluetooth is everywhere Beta 6.0 is in use pre stages! Time travel we will not see in our time. (teleport)
