I just think he is trying to increase ethic and business systems in China ....at the same time, Chinese government don't feel well about US selling weapons to Taiwan, so could lead Chinese people think about Obama hate china.
whether Mr Obama holds any attitude towards red-China should be his own issue - I am not saying that his personal opinion/s is totally influence free to policy making, might be subtle yet could be existed. whatever Mr Obama did/doing is to fulfill his duty as a president - maximizing interests of the US. or, perhaps, to maintain a dominance as a super power.
it seems that the red-Chinese government probably mistaken missions of the Copenhagen summit that explains well why they responded in that way, according to open information so far of my awareness.
about Formosa and Tibet I assume you have gone through many relevant historic books.
besides, maybe you would like to make comparison of perception about 'I first' and 'You first' which i currently feel could be used as one single factor to differentiate eastern und western culture.

that what i really concern about...how can they rule the world less then cant even make peace between some Chinese countries like Taiwan, HongKong and Tibet.
People could say china will rule the world not for anything because they have strong economics and their population spreading around the world, that's all.
sometimes, they are doing economic in unethical way, selling dumping products to other countries, selling unsafe product to the third world countries, example product like; milk, toothpaste,etc, they are really harmful for people.
it's too sad to see business is business and doing business in unethical way
The issues with China are long-standing.
Taiwain refuses to be part of the China because of the communist coup d'etats. It was a non-democractic rule. We support them in the cause, since because Obama.
China is a top nation polluter. Clearly this is bad. We wish they decrease their emissions.
Obama has met with the Dalai Llama. He is a man of great wisdom. Why should China oppose?
China takes continuous action to keep their currency low, to falsely propose their home market. They are nondemocratic.
If china became worse, US will become poor coz half of Us economic can run because of China.... they bout industries product from China, and china is not so smart, they pollutes and sells their to US. US is smart, they dont pollute but they are making China to pollute much...
If china doesn't pollute much, where the US could buy the product from...or service well..
If the Us put China away, not too different with they try to stop their breathing nose...
