OH NO NO NO

I came home and what did i see wow wow wow a man on top of the roof with my birds.

devil He was clearing chimney chicks and all crying and putting a cowl on top of chimney.

The poor parents swooped around but sadly chicks swept down the chimney i presume.

I was so upset, so hope this photo come down of the DEVIL man

It could be that the chicks had already gone down the chimney hence the cowl. Did wonder if the chimney was still in use. Nests in chimney can cause a lot of damage unfortunately even house fires.

Find a tree nest next time Redcrying
Looks as if they're getting a wood burner installed.

Probably booked prior to eggs being laid/hatching.

Still, not fair on the little tykes. They weren't hurting anyone.
I've had birds nesting in one of my chimneys every dam year since I've been here driven me crazy with scratching and muttering from dawn to dusk. So I've had a cowl put on but I had it done in September. Finally I have silence, they were crows. Doubly annoying as I encourage birds into the garden and they were attacking them.

I can't find whether certain applications, or other paperwork has to be carried out prior to destroying a nest in a chimney, but it does seem a bit dodgy to me given nesting season is so short. Unless the nest dropped and your neighbours quickly had the work done to prevent the adults from coming to harm looking for their young.

...there is a link to a report form.
doh nope no smoke out chimney, parents still going back and forward with food, now they have been sitting near chimney 10 mins at times, reckon they are sad. blues
could be any of those things but i felt sad for them, they had worked so hard building nest, then sitting on eggs, then feeding.

some humans shall i say do not work that hard but sit on there ---- and collect dole. Its like government feeding them
Yep emmy i understand that but it was hard to watch it all. teddybear
Hi jac yep that is all true i had read about that but hoped this clutch could have ended better blues
Red yes it would be, if i was the home owner I'd of delayed it. What don't delay is the wasps and hornets who decide my other chimney is nice for a nest every dam year.
In humanity's defence it's not like we can become gainfully self-employed just by doing what comes naturally. We can't go wherever we like and poach whatever we can because of government and private property and things. Property is theft of our natural employment, and if you were to ask the ancient Greeks being civilised is unemployment itself.
grin doh yep chesney not as if we could grow wings laugh

but yes i get your out of box thinking mine was about hard work of birds now no release as they have been coming to chimney all day stopping sometimes 10mins at time.

I hope they find a tree and start all over again teddybear
