Matthew Perry (Chandler Bink in Friends) died Saturday after calling 911 to say he was drowning

Perry was a well loved actor in Friends and several other TV progs and films, he will be greatly missed.

Strange that he was calling 911 while he was drowning. I know one situation that might give you a feeling as if you are drowning and that is lungoedema. This oedema causes the lung tissue filling up with fluid and swelling so that normal lung function (= breathing) becomes impossible. One of the causes is heart failure. But that you can still call 911 then seems odd to me.confused
Nevertheless I will miss Chandler's statements from Friends. May he rest in peace. angel
