I'm gonna be lying awake all night figuring that one out.
Thank you, Easywriter!
Apart from the odd dimple due to meteorite strike, it hasn't changed one bit in 4.5 billion years...... except, of course, for a bit of rubbish left behind by some tourists a few decades back.
I wasn't referring to its orbit or its gravitational pull causing tides (on Earth); just the fact the actual moon does not change its appearance. No atmosphere and water means no wind and water erosion. There are no tectonic plates so rifts and mountains aren't formed; and there's no volcanic activity. In other words........ it's as dead as a dodo.
And as Earth is a bigger target, you'd have to assume we've been hit with more meteors than the moon. We probably have but all the evidence disappears over time.......... unlike the moon. And 70% of the Earth's surface is water after all.
And yes Venus; I probably am getting away from all the romantic, mystical and soppy stuff but hey....... I can't find any other blogs to comment on!
