Dark MAtter

We believe that most of the matter in the universe is dark, i.e. cannot be detected from the light which it emits (or fails to emit). This is "stuff" which cannot be seen directly -- so what makes us think that it exists at all? Its presence is inferred indirectly from the motions of astronomical objects, specifically stellar, galactic, and galaxy cluster/supercluster observations. It is also required in order to enable gravity to amplify the small fluctuations in the Cosmic Microwave Background enough to form the large-scale structures that we see in the universe today. What do you think?

so how does it amplify the cosmic microwaves?confused confused confused confused wow wow wow
By the density of the matter, the temperatures fluctuate
Very much like the wind then whose presence is inferred from the moving trees.
Ta for your comments
dark matter must be hot.... now ive got it!
lol!! you're funny!
Hi,

just a question. You said:

"We believe that most of the matter in the universe is dark, i.e. cannot be detected from the light which it emits (or fails to emit)".

If it fails, there's no radiation of any kind and thus I believe it would be by definition impossible to observe it?
yeah i heard something about dark matter some people say it's what our universe is basically made of. so our universe is expanding and dark matter is responsible for the increasing distance between planets galaxies, etc in the universe.
I believe it is expanding!!! Great comments!!!
