A Motorway(freeway) and a Roundabout are in a bar having a drink. When in through the door walks this thin red coloured road. He walks straight up to the bar, pushes the motorway aside and orders a drink. The Roundabout is just about to say something in his friends defence when the Motorway shakes his head and ushers him to a quiet corner.'Why did you let him do that? Your much bigger than him' asks the Roundabout.'Yes, I might be big' replies the Motorway 'but he's a cyclepath!'

joke rins: photon = traveling light, which ain't true.
a photon = basic quantum of any electromagnetic energy really (inc. light but could be gamma or radio wave as far as the defenition is concerned)

I am not sure if you heard about it, there are some topics talking about faster than light particle (just in theory of course), really a fascinting topic I read it at some point but I can't remember all the details ..

The sad truth is, that light behaves both as a wave form and as a particle. Com si, com sa. When it behaves as a particle, it is called a photon.
So by and large, photons are particles, and they do travel at the speed of light. They are what light is, when light displays the functionalities of a particle, not of a wave form; such as having mass. (They do have a minuscule mass. Not in the Catholic or Anglican sense.)
