LETS RIDE THE TIDE

When i was a child, we lived in an inland area, so when we eventually visited the coast, the ocean, seemed particularly magical to me, i never lost that initial feeling of awe, at both its beauty, and its awesome power, i think most people find it magical as i do, and i visit the beach, as often as i can, it is truly romantic, i was walking the beach some weeks ago in stormy weather, and the noise in the small cove was deafening, having high cliffs either side, have you fond memories of your trips to the ocean too, and do you still go there

lets fire-up, hope you like this trip across THE OCEAN.

I know what u mean.My City is situtedon on the sea.So my house is close to Seaside.I like going there in the summer or when the weather is calm.Sometimes when its storming I drive there and sit in the car and watching the waves .Wonderful feelings.wine
thank you Rummy, i too prefer the sea, in its wildness, when the storms come, the noise is deafening here in the small high cliff coves, it is like standing at the gates of madness, but i love its raw power.
thank you Mister Cloud, im glad you have such exotic memories of chilhood, living so close to paradise, liar you are always welcome on my blog, i am a very tolerant person, even of intellectuals. laugh

Each time I go is a pleasant experience
and particularly at high tide.
Hello i have visited the both the east coast, and the west coast
of Ireland. The Dingle Peninsula reminds me of Picture Rocks here in my state.

the ocean is inside of me and i am part of the ocean...
i know what you mean miss...embrace it.it is a true gift...
SUR-DE-QUETO, i am glad you enjoy it as i do, thank you, you have been wanted a long time, i think they should increase the bounty.laugh
no problem mister Cloud, you are a good man at heart, i know this.
terbear, i have visited around dingle, next summer i hope to go out to the Skelligs, off shore, but i have to say, i lost my heart to Connemara, in north Galway, it is a place of dreams, beyond beaty, in places, thank you.
YEP...love me some sea baby! I couldnt imagine not being able to see the sea everyday! Wonderful! Plus I have a small boat so thats a lot of fun in the summer! Welcome to join when ur in Cyprus!!! :)
I also like to watch friend fish on my boat while im lying down chilling with an ice coffee. (I have no patience to fish my self!) We have hardly caught anything all last summer...haha...but still is fun!
marss, thank you, you are not shy of sea, or beaches, in Florida, small wonder, it is in your blood, what a polite young man. thumbs up
Leo, than you, it sounds so wonderful, why dont you do the fishing also, you must dangle bait, to get a nibble, and i dont think the fishies like, iced coffee, or other drinks.laugh
Yeah but fish hate me I think! I guess they know how much I love to eat them and they never nibble on my bait...unless they aresure they can get away with it haha.
Something else really cool that happened this summer.....Saw wild dolphins! A whole school of them...10 or more! They came v near and under the boat and I took a video! Thats was amazing for me! I odnt think I can upload videos to CS can I?
SUR-DE-QUITO, humm now i am tempted to become the bounty-hunter, you are a bad man to tempt me, i better wear a disguise. detective
Leo, the Irish coast has pods, of dolphins, all around it now, and in some estuaries, they follow the boats, to the off-shore islands, and yes, they are lovely to watch leaping, playfully, you cannot make a sandwich of the dolphin Leo, it is not allowed.laugh
Oh! Not allowed you say....sigh
rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing laugh laugh laugh
Lovely images from around the world Livinhope and I really liked it when the sea crashed against the lonesome lighthouse.. the power of the sea is amazing and the life it provides.. peace Here is a video of here, which is very similar to the emerald isle and music from Runrig.. Enjoy..

cool
Yash, thank you, beautiful images, from Scotland the Brave, a beautiful country, with stunning coastline. it certainly is very rugged, and wild in places, i hope it keeps its uniqueness, and unspoiled landscape, always.
44 years i lived walking distance from the sea, then transfered to the mountains of Italy, away from the crowds,to clean air and silence.handshake wine wine
Robertino, how sad, that the beach you lived near, that it was a tourist haven, you resided in, but i am sure you would not have made your decision lightly, and now enjoy your solitude, in your lofty eminence, but perhaps one day, the sea, may call you back, for it is enchanting, in its calling.
Hi Livein, The south coast of England is beautifull, and i knew where to find the quite places, then my life changed direction, to escape from the rat race,20 years now in Italy and love it,the people, culture, slow life style, every morning i wake to the sound of a waterfall close to my house, with the advantage of being only 30 mins from the sea. wine wine
Robertino, one might remark, you left, but you stayed near, in truth, the heart stays true, at least to oneself.
The first time my daughter saw the sea she was about 18 months old, but fell asleep in the car on the way there. I carried her sleeping to the beach and layed her down on the sand.

When she woke up the expression on her face was like she'd landed on the moon. wow shock

I so wish I'd captured that moment on film. laugh
Jac, but in essence, you did capture that picture in your mind, it was a very special moment, shared, and it need never be erased from there.
The sea is a wonderful and horrible place. A place of beauty and wonder and of terror and destruction.

When calm... beautiful and tranquil. The vastness...

When angry... relentless and to be feared. The untamed power of nature.

I'd prefer an inland lake. We can sit on the dock or go out in a boat... no fear... no worries... no weather forecast or charts of the bottom needed. cheers

Are you okay with having less 'vastness'? laugh
Unforunately, Inthemind, we have to look out for what lies beneath in our lochs.. uh oh though sometimes what we come across on land can be just as worrying if not more terrifying.. help violin hole cool
Inthemind, the tranquil sea, is beautiful, especially at sunset, but i must be honest here, the stormy sea, stirs my restless spirit, as it crashes, and roars, like dark nights of the soul.
Yash, do you speak of this Loch-Ness-Monster, have you seen it, perhaps being saturday night, people were in the beer-garden, and imagined it.laugh
Yes, you're right and perhaps its better in memory than on film. There's something special about fragments of memory that we can lose in the starkness of film.

And it was nicely shared, too, with 4 women who I went to college with. We try to get together for one weekend every year, mostly by the sea. I was the first of us to have a child and we now have 10 between us. I'm now the first again to have a grandchild and so we start again on our adventures by the sea with a new addition to our friendship circle.

Thank you for bringing my happy times to mind with your blog.
Liveinhope:

What a beautiful person you are. Although i grew up near the sea, I didn't get aquainted due to my parents. Still, the constant movement of the water is like myself and i am more comfortable around change than stone monuments.

Highest regards,
Lookyloulips
Luckylou, thank you, for your kindness, you are the one with the fluid soul, it is like the ship, that is unsteady, on the sea, she will run as sleek, as the sturdiest vessel, when you master your spirit, sometimes it takes many voyages, to learn how to steer it, some are unlucky, and meet stormy seas on every voyage, but your day to hit calm waters will come too, and you will be so proud, of the way you master yourself, and say to your billowing sails, probably for the first time, take me homehug
Inthemind, magical, is all i can say, it stirs the spirit, there must be a wildness in me somewhere, i want to be a pirate, thank you, not a day for a canoe.laugh
Wow, You are amazing liveinhope. I wish we were neighbors!
I am crass and unrefined, but always see the beauty in all things!lips
Not any real comment here (cs shoot me) but just wanna say:
wunderbar... lol (L+L) share this: bouquet
lookylou, i am not amazing, not even close, when i was small, when playing, like all little girls, i wanted to be a magic princess, but i came to realize, that the only magic i had was me, and the real magic you have is you, the problem is, that special people, never see the special in themselves, one day you will.angel2
hello Morgan, how are you, thanks for dropping by, i sense a sea change in you, you are much calmer, more relaxed, or are you just sedated. laugh
Yea, i grew up by the seaside (oslofjord) and i also like the idea of getting out on the fjord aswell as being on the shore.
I like all that has to do with sea. Try to have a boat every year, though its a bit work. Never said no to laying on i good sandy beach either.

Sailing.

it looks wonderful fun, Morgen, Ireland has many estuaries, and inlets, but only 1 fjord, its called the Killary, on the rugged west coast, i took a trip down to the ocean in a glass cover boat one day, on this fjord, which was very pleasent, although Ireland was oficially neutral during the war, the guide said, there was a secret base here, to help the british resupply, and go back fight u-boats in the atlantic ocean, it was very beautiful, and educational, in all its aspects, thank you, for the video, and the blue sky, now its time, sleep
