Men and fishing

Do all men on cs like fishing? Which would be your favourite spot? River? Dam? or Sea?

I notice most men love this hobby. I wonder what is so interesting about it. I've tried fishing at a river with some friends. I waited and waited and waited.....sigh...none of the fish came to me. Gave up. But my friends(men) could wait for hours for the fish. Of course they caught some. The best part was, I got to eat the fresh fish. grin

honeybz, if I may? I am not a man but I like fishing it is one of those things that gets your mind off the world for just a little while, but then unlike a man I could care less if I catch the biggest one or the most. I always do well enough to give the man I with some compention.applause
I like fishing but there is not much opportunity for it here.
We did have more dead fish in the creek than caught fish.
And it is regulated, too. Not free.
Hi explorer 6, yes, I've heard that fishing is a relaxing hobby. But not for me, I'm not a patient person. Besides Malaysia is a hot country and I don't quite like to fish under the hot sun.
The older I get the more I enjoy the quiet get-away called 'fishing' Some guys tell their wives that they are going fishing then they are off to have some other fun.So 'fishing'can be very eventful sometimes. But beware of the sharks. Best fishing I have done was off the coast of West Africa. cheers beverage delivery
I lay down my line but no takers here! frustrated
HI, guadal,
Oh, was the river/sea polluted? I think the regulation could be due to overfishing or maybe to save the ecology.
Honeybzz, You should try the fishing down here . In the mid 90's the charter boat captains started a tag and release program ( voulenteraly ) for the bill fish . The results have been more that hoped for . Every August or more precicely the last two weeks in it is the bill fish tournoment . It is nothing unusual to hook into a three or four hundred pound marlin any more . There have been some 600 + pound monsters taken recently . It is getting so popular that it attracts anglers from all over the world . They also only go about 5 milles out from San Juan to catch them . Forget the meps spinners or the landing nets, this is fishing at it's most extreem . Not for the faint of heart !
Hi Stony, long time no see. Gone for vacation?

Lol..... laugh I've heard of that excuses. Poor unsuspecting wives. I think Africa has great oceans where the rare fish are.
we live in a mad world - u can see it in this topic.

man can overfish. but here pollution, water works and traffic are much worse than fishing.
In the Rhine the Salmon was still abundant a century ago but extinct in the meantime.
With enormous efforts some are coming back now in some tributaries.

There are harsh laws and penalties for fishing without licence but destroying the fish by industry is for free!
Hi Sur_de_Quito,

hehehhehe...maybe you laid your line at the wrong side. dunno
Yes I just returned from Shanghai, very cold there now. Can you tell me where that photo was taken? I guess that was your fishing spot.
First time I went fishing I caught a salmon - a whole 3 inches - brother -in-law took one look at it and threw it back doh before I had a chance to photo it.

It was the only fish we caught that day.......

Think (Scotland can be cold and wet) I'd sooner net the river - catch what I want - and go home.

guadal, the govt should first tackle the factories and fine them. They are the one who pollute the rivers/seas and kill the aquamarine animals. mumbling
Those that I've not replied, I'll do so next day. grin

Time to zzzzzzzzz...Tomorrow is Chinese New Year eve where the Chinese will have a reunion dinner with family members. 23rd Jan is Chinese New Year. banana
Happy New Year
The reason most men like fishing is because fishes don't talk.rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing
I love fishing, anywhere, i find the fight of the fish is rewarding, the selection of the lure intriguing, and the skill that's needed sometimes to get the bite, but mostly the catch and secure cheers

but in truth just being out in nature is reward enough thumbs up
wave Have done river, dam, surf & deep sea fishing in my time. I most enjoyed my river fishing, most probably because the rivers were clean then & I was a young lad. thumbs up wink thumbs up
Last few times I've gone......surf fishing, more challenging though & less rewarding! handshake cheers yay peace
"Catchin anything Mate?"
"NAHH! May as well eat the Bait" doh
"Catchin anything Mate?"
"NAHH! May as well eat the Bait"

Parti,
Haha, I have done that....
I could care less about fishing. I've tried it, I don't like it and I would never waste my time doing it again.
Hi Frankinstien

Anglers are avid fans of open-sea fishing. It's a satisfaction when one can catch a big fish. Some just for the fun of catching one and later letting go of the fish.

My uncle was a fisherman and during school holidays I used to visit his family in Pulau Ketam (direct translation - Crab Island). Followed them to the sea and saw how they cast and pulled the net. It was not easy. But it was their rice bowl.
zandaarthehawk

Next time when you catch one, should quickly take a photo of it. hehehe.

Yeah fishes don't talk but some bite. Make sure you don't get bitten.

Oh yes, out in the nature is nice. I love sea. Fishing need skill. I don't have the skill, that was why I got bored and gave up.

Elmorya Midrand,

Good old time. Rivers then were clean and unpolluted compared to now. Sigh!

Ed1941 LaVerne,
Awwww Edl. Sounds nice. I'm visualizing you sitting by the lake and dozing off. And the fish pulling you into the lake.

particolor

Lol...hahahaaaa

Finally there's one agreed with me. Thanks Carl. I agree with you 100% . Fishes are also living things. I've seen many documentaries and the poor fish esp big ones, struggling to get free from the hooks.

I think fish can sense danger.

CaptainCrunch , Fishing for some is a satisfaction, to others it's a waste of time. Each their own. To me it's not something I would want to do.
