Friends are like roses...you have to look out for
You’re having lunch with three people you respect and admire. They all start criticizing a close friend of yours, not knowing she is your friend.The criticism is distasteful and unjustified.
What do you do?

I would say this person is your friend and if these people are so special they will understand what they are doing wrong.
No need to tell your friend what they have said.

I would not sit quiet and allow
this to go on. In fact I would
leave their company and think
far less of them for this behaviour.
