agresive metalheads

this is the general idea people have about what has now become more than just a style of music but rather a culture.
people belonging to this group are seen as being violent tatood monkeys with a thinking disabiletys, yet recent studies disproves this notion quite fiercely.
it would seem that not only is the metal geanre closely linked to the complexity of clasical music but also the listener/metal heads personality trates are also closely linked to that of the clasical listener.

what are your thoughts on the people acociated with different music?

It's interesting that you mention this topic.....the people that I grew up with, who were "metalheads" were very passionate, intelligent people. Smarter than most I know, in many ways, including in a political sense. Most of those I knew are successful in life today. thumbs up wave
i find the same thing red well i might be slightly biased being a metalhead myself lol, but i also find that for some odd reason the majority of people are slightly prejudice towards certain musical styles like metal for instance... is it a minority complex i have lol
Lindiz, Sorry but I a great deal of knowledge of classical musical and to be honest, for me the kind of music you are talking about.... I have absolute no knowledge of being linked to what I listen to.... unless I misunderstand in that you are referring to another form of music that is considered as
" classical ". I do not knock the music you are talking about, I just don't enjoy anything to do with rock music from its early forms.dunno handshake
I liked metal whan i was younger and i was luckey enough to be in my teens when tonns of good original metal came out in the late 80's. Some of this ofcourse where not the hardest metal, more stuff that is close to pop-matal these days if we can call it that. I mean for instance matallica. Thay became more soft and pop-culture but the first three albums really rocked.
And we have all the puddle rockers too of the 80's, but thay made good music. Like Ozzy, judas, scorpions, dio, van halen, maiden etc. Slayer and those more "blood thirsty" ones also had undeniably good inputs, for the unfant-hearted, lol.

I had a friend that was more rock than most, thogh back then we had no tatoos as thay had not bacame so poppis yet.
This friend of mine that we called Christian Rockstar (his last name rhymed with that) now is running his own business with meny employees that he started alone.

@morgan i agrea, metal was great back in the day and holds the essence of geanre.
and it is very true of what you say about metalica lol.
maiden must be one of my favorate bands of the 80's :D started 1975 theyre last album that i know of came out 2010
I have loved heavy metal (in particular, Iron Maiden) ever since i first discovered it in my teens.
I also love classical music and among my favourite composers are, Bach, Debussy, Rachmaninov and Tchaikovsky to name but a few.
So it doesnt surprise me that the personality traits of the listeners of both genres of music are quite similar, after all classical music was probably the equivalent of todays heavy metal in its hey day.

cheers
i agrea dj wobbat beethovan use to recular the "clasic clubs" those crazy classic heads of back then.
Hi Lindz, and great to see you :))) Amazing new pic!

I am a "victim" of such prejudices! People get extremely surprised that I am a metal fan. According to my appearance and personality they say they expect me to be a fan of something more "quiet" and classical wink They just don't know my passionate and individualistic inner self which perfectly matches hard-rock and metal music grin head banger

Of course it doesn't mean I am some metal neanderthal and don't listen to Vivaldi or other kinds of music ;) But never to cheesy stuff! laugh

Especially for the blogger:

And what to say about Jon Lord ("known for his pioneering work in fusing rock and classical or baroque forms")and Deep Purple!

Nevermind Jon Lord, Ritchie Blackmore's (as well as Tony Iommi's for that matter) entire style is rooted directly from his baroque training!
try as i might, i just cant see any of the old classical composers, in there day, listening to metal, in any of its forms, i think they would have run away in fright.violin guitar
wow thanks for the great input sur de queto... jana so glad to see you again, i atempted sending you a masage saying i am back but unfortunately could not due to restrictions on your profile.

but yes i believe that the majority of metal heads have either a grounding or apretiation for clasical music, as that is the basis of most if not all music today banana
All the great composers ( Bach, Motzart, etc . ) all wrote and played in the style that was popular in there time . Had any of these been alive today they most likely would have composed in the popular mediums prevelent . I also think that the explosion of music in the last century was unparraleled in history . The 20th Century could be acuratly called the " Musical Century "
It's fine now Lindz!

My FAVORITE ONE ever! RONNIE JAMES DIO!

Ronnie has a very powerful, distinctive and almost operatic vocal style. He claims it was a voice he was born with, which was further nurtured and enhanced by both his trumpet playing and the records he was exposed to in his Italian migrant home.
"Learning to play the trumpet is the same technique as singing," says Ronnie. "You have to have good technique or you'll blow yourself out, so I applied the same thing to a singing style. As a kid, I listened to a lot of opera in my home, and I think hearing those great tenors really influenced me. So, I put all those things together — all of my past experiences listening to opera, playing the horn, adapting the horn technique to vocal technique — and those are the reasons that I'm able to do what I do today."
Ronnie is also very proud of the fact that he developed his vocal style in his own unique way, without the potentially negative influence of any voice teacher.
