fast changing world

By the yr 2100, we could lose Antarctica:Over past 50 yrs, temperatures in parts of the continent have jumped nearly 37 degrees-a rate of 5 times faster than the global average. In 2007, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, released a report predicting sea levels would rise between seven & 23 inches by 2100, on caveat;the numbers didnt account for Antarctica's rapid ice melt. New researchers believe the sea could shoot up three to six feet by the end of the century.
Antarctica's ice cap holds 70 percent of the freshwater on earth;if it melts, the ocean's could rise 187 feet, decimating entire Island nations worldwide(The Maldives, for example).
Antarctica's wildlife is also at risk,Krill are essential to the marine food chain-fish,seals,penguins&whales eat them-but the shrimp, like cruslacean's numbers have dropped 80 percent since the 1970's disrupting the whole ecosystem.
There is so much more to add, all the different country's that will be affected by the sea raising?blues is just a small part of the bigger picture, take the time in your day 2 smile even if you do not want too,eat the things you know you shouldnt laugh stop and smell the flowers, and make love if you can with someone that gives you the warm fuzzy laugh enjoy life as much as you can is what im talking about grin
Man kind is so greedy blues mumbling we cant stop what is happening because money rules most of the world blues
Wish more people knew how special the world is and that everything on it is PRICLESS peace

Bon, a very informative "stop you in your tracks" article. If only more of us gave something back to "Mother Earth" and appreciated nature more...we seem to take things for granted.
So many out there still destroying our planet ! We celebrated "earth day" on the 22nd... I didn't have much to give back... I fed the birds, as I usaully do, so I hope that every little bit counts purple heart
2100 seems so far away... perhaps things will end before then dunno
Yes greed and selfishness will always be in the world until the end.... unfortunately. But we can do our part no matter where we live even if we are alone. It is a matter of people will bother being concern about sharing the planet with their fellow creatures of the earth to live in harmony.

Myself, if I'll be around in 2100, maybe... only in my somewhat mid life at 70 yers in 29 days... I'll probably still be hanging around somewhere.laugh laugh

Joking aside, yes BonC you would be a good influence to those who haven't got a clue.
Hi Springlark grin thank you grin you are too kind hug and you are a good influence 2 laugh i have enjoyed many of your comments in past blogs grin
Bon rose
I think we should bring more sand from Africa and raise our ground again grin we did it before crazy
If we don't take measures now i think it will be no Netherlands any more, cos we already under see level sigh
I am going to raise my garden first idea
BonCapricorn, you have such a beautiful outlook on life...idealistic as it may seem. Every little bit counts, every good deed and every action has a reaction. what you have said is true, only we can make a difference to change things for the better wine and make this world a better place grin
I just recently caught up on a bit of movie watching (read my blog to find out why) laugh
One of the movies I watched again was called "The bucket list"
two old men dying from cancer: they decided to make a list and to do things they always wanted to do before they died...
It was very inspiring...thumbs up
On that list, were many things but among those things:
Do something for a stranger for the good, and witness something majestic (So many beautiful places on this planet we have never seen) ALSO laugh until you cry...hug wine
It was moving indeed...
Bon
Gardening is my hobby and i do that in my garden and only in the summer times,i begin from now till end october .I like lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, radish, beans, mint etc..some veg i can not grow because of my ground quality and the weather.
I never heard about that system ? Do you mean, people work in some farms and they can get vegs for free?confused wine
Bon, the simple act of waste segregation and recycling are the things me and my family is doing to in a way to contribute and lessen the waste being thrown. We have been doing these since I can remember and still practicing. And my youngest brother earn decent money for the things we recycled and sell.
Bon, the theory of the so called Global heating was rejected several years ago as a great mystification. Take it easy, we won't lose Antarctica! laugh wink wave
Firaslion head banger you grow so much grin you have a awesome garden, head banger grin What i was talking about was the green dollar system we used it years ago, many still do it but not as much anymore.
Its when you do things for others without using money to paid,in basic example; you paid a guy ta fix your door with a chicken or a basket of fruit and veg, fresh bread, cheeses, ect grin
Shay28 head banger RECYCLING applause cheering teddybear teddybear you and your family rock i tell ya bouquet
What you are doing is helping the planet in a good way grin cheers theres is many that do it but still not enough ta make a difference fast blues sadly enough blues
My lovely Ariel28 grin Several Years ago ??? where have you been? grin A hell of alot can happen in a few seconds ??? blues but Several years ??? my lovely lady you need ta catch up fast on whats been happening ta our earth, theses facts, that i write, are up dates in the last 2 days grin
and there is much more info, but this is one of my passions grin nature, land and animals,i follow what is happening to our earth very closely, like many others are doing, all theses earth quakes, floods ect that have been happening ??? wow in such a short space of time ??? affect not just people, but our hole planet and everything on it and in it and around it wow
my daughters father & male members of his family, are all fishermen, and their parents before them where fishermen,
the pictures ive seen of the melting ice breaking away from the Antarctica a few years ago, where big enough to land and sit planes on, because they did land planes on them laugh (crazy man kind always thinks its better than anything else).
Any way the fishermen even said they had never seen anything like it or heard of anything like that happening before,we have the crew that work at the antarctica, stay at work off and on during the year and even they say its melting fast, theres so much going on in the world that its very hard to keep up ta date on just one thing i guess dunno but it looks grim blues so i cant see the goverments in each country suddenly saying money doesnt matter any more, there will be no more RICH and POOR we will pull all the money together and help out everyone? no cause that means, they have to give their money ??? and that wont happen they need their 100,000 + a year very mad
so thats why i also say ... stop and smell the flowers grin

Because, who knows whats going ta happen at the end of the day ??? no one does grin (not on this plane/present, any way)grin
Dear Bon, I respect your love and devotion for nature but things about the Global Warming myth aren't so innocent. As usual, money (zillions) are involved. You can find many materials on it, and there were doubts starting from the 1990s! Now I read a book written by Michael Crighton in 2005 and called State Of Fear. As literature it's nothing but its goal is to reveal what is behind the huge campaign about the so called global warming. Although it's not a documentary book, he cites many scientific sources and you d be impressed by the data.

The last years, the so called Extreme Ecological Organizations get quite powerful and get sponsored by hm some not very decent places. You can easily see that they serve not only economical goals (through blackmailing for example) but also political agendas.

Here are just some links on the topic;

And a passage from the last link (February 2012):

Before we get to the charts, we had some other global warming related news this week. A bit of background first. In the last 20 years billions of dollars have been spent on a whole new array of scientific instruments which the scientists who push the global warming agenda felt would confirm their view that global warming was an emergency and that man was to blame. Much of this is satellite technology. The irony is that the data coming from these technologically advanced instruments have led to the opposite conclusion.

This week, data from another new satellite, Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment or GRACE satellite launched in 2002 as a joint project between NASA and Germany in 2002. GRACE was designed to study the problem of melting polar ice.

And the GRACE satellite discovered that the rate of ice melting was substantially less than previously hyped by the global warming crowd. As Gomer Pyle used to say "surprise, surprise, surprise!" As far as predictions for the future, researcher John Wahr of the University of Colorado who compiled the data said:
It's important to realize that melting patterns are hard to predict.
"Even with an eight-year estimate, it's not clear how far into the future you can project," he says. "A lot of people want to predict into the end of the century, but I think it's too dangerous to do that … We don't have enough info to know what'll happen. There's some ebb and flow to these things."
Thank you Ariel grin yes i do love this sort of thing and thank you for the links, i know they will interest me grin but it still saids the same thing, basicly no one really knows what will happen ? and yes i have always known money/greed rule our planet and man kind has alot to answer for blues
So its pretty much a waiting game ta see who is closest to what may happen?
Im hoping grin in my own personal world laugh that they say "its the end of the world as we know it"? so seeing its headin into a greedy, negative, money hungry world ??? well mostly grin
the end of the world as we know it,
May, be the end of alot of greed and negative actions, and money need? ya never knowdunno teddybear bouquet
Firaslion wave i do not know why it was called the green dollar system? but at a guess ? maybe because alot of payment was done with foods?dunno or that you worked with nature??? or as natural as possible???dunno but it works grin everyone has special things they can do, and in this system, they use their talents, as best they can to survive grin
Its very social grin you know what is in your food laugh because you get to know people better, you spend more personal time, one on one, kind of thing grin
Its still done in some areas not on the scale it used ta be grin
Bon, we humans are a bit too arrogant to think we have a huge influence on Earth. We d better be more humble but still responsible. And just to try to live in a decent way TODAY. About tomorrow... We have a saying here: "People suppose/hope but it's God who decides/knows".

Thank you for this blog! hug teddybear bouquet
Thanks Ariel28 great info laugh thank you grin even in all those words grin they are still not sure doh grin At least i can say this much, i am very pleased, there are so many different groups checking this all out, (good and bad groups) if they all got together and worked together, they might come up with some concrete stuff??? grin yes i know what you mean i have been a member part of Green peace for over 12 years now grin and yes i would agree, on a bit of both, comments you made about them laugh
But Hay i believe in being part of it, as best i can, than just talking bout it, so i join them grinbut to help the planet not kill it
grin cheers Ariel28 grin bouquet
Bon the best of it is that you DO something and not only talk! I can only congratulate you about it! I am an optimist about the Earth's future, since I think that our children will be more responsible and smart than us. So your efforts won't be in vain! hug thumbs up
Thank you Ariel28 grin hug i hope so 2 wine
So funny that the Polar bears are dying of starvation in my mothers homeland as there is not enough ice for them to hunt properly. People are so easily deluded, i guess that is why God calls them sheep...baaaa.doh
