Within reason I say it doesn't matter. If I liked a girl and she was 10 years younger or older, it would make no difference to me at all. Over 10 years either way,then she would have to be unique and special indeed.

Beagle, It does depend on what we are looking for, because a teenager for instance would only be looking to experiment a lot and not become serious, a person in there thirties would be looking to have a family/marriage and a person in there seventies would be looking for companionship, so age critic is important but I'm only talking in general and it still depends on the persons involved

I have to agree somewhat with Gordon on this. Over 10 years and it does seem to be a little weird. Let's face it, things change, not speaking physically, but generations are different. I guess as you get older, age matters less. It just doesn't feel right to be around someone old enough to be my mother or daughter. Call me old fashioned or whatever you want......it's my opinion.

Hi Beagle, in my point of view there is possibility when age does matter or it does not matter. That would be depend on what you want to look for in a relationship and/or what kind of people whom you want to "deal" with in life.

In my love life experience, I had perception that much older men are wiser, bla bla and bla, but when I dealt with them in reality...I found myself so stubborn to think my perception was right. I took chance to evaluate what went wrong with my previous relationship (my ex-fiance was twice my age) and I started to accept the fact that I may not be compatible with someone with a big gap in age. Anyway, I've known some of friends who prefer to be and who are comfortable with someone with big difference of age in relationships...if they are happy with it then I am happy for them.
