Hi Sweetie,

I haven t heard of this. Will you explain more? wave
basically there are petitions...signatures are being gathered in 20 states in the usa to become independent...to secede...and be their own nation away from washington....all it takes it 25,000 signatures for the white house to take notice and as of now there are 60,000 and counting in texas...many, many people and states do not want this to turn into a socialist country....so if that is the way it is headed we want out,,,including my home state of indiana and my birth state michigan woo-hoo!!!
There is Zero chance of this happening. sad flower
A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing.
Protests take different forms. Anything a group of people can agree on needs to be listened to by politicians.

Maddog is right ... no chance of succession happening... but the thoughts that the petitions express (independent of vs dependent on government) will be heard. It's part of the political balance... I'd sign. handshake
Oops.

Secession ... to secede ... (SaddestAngel is right).

On the Washington Times (newspaper) web site...

For myself... moving to Canada would be easier. grin
voices shall be heard...papers and signatures shall be noticed...and then???
heya my ancestors r from this country...i am native american...how about one of those and maybe even female as a president???!! what about that....all americans have a right to voice their opinion this is supposedly a free market place...(and ps where would this country b if the republicans and business people take themselves and businesses out of this country so that they can survive...??
ispeak as a business owner...am independent...run two businesses...use to have a storefront a few yrs back...but now run things out of my home due to the economy...like other fellow business people...it takes capital and ingenuity to run things and keep things going....geeezzz isn't that what this country was founded upon....(rhetorical question)
Civil War...sooo many possibilities!cheering

See my post on the Obama Won...Hooo thread, page 14
on one aspect of secession...Hope is alive...wine
Sweetie I get the frustration of the people who have voted differently and now have to bear the consequences of someone's else votes. We here have experienced the same, even after falsified election results in the early 90s. You can protest and it s great but alas, you ll have to wait for another 4 years before you can hope for a change. And I guess the ex-present-president will make his best to make these 47% at least 50%. Including by importing them wink doh
Overall, it isn't "us versus them". We'll do fine. Anything that is too radical won't last. Although talk about new policy (law) can seem extreme, the actual results of the debate are usually somewhere in the political middle. It works out...

Ariel - I am very pleased with the process of our elections and that we can have high confidence that the results are honest and valid. It would be very discouraging to experience the things you did back in the 90's. blues

well excuse my type from hrs. ago...and there is corruption everywhere....and hopefully these protests will accomplish something...i mean he is suppose to be pres of all not just a priveleged few...and we need to voice it loud and clear and keep fighting injustice back and our consciences and principles need to be heard and the innocent protected in all stages of life UNTIL natural death...angel
I signed as well....it may not happen, but I'm on the band wagon, I am at #21,175....
